An excellent speech.

GM has a lot of good people working there, but none have had the authority to make the major changes necessary because things still "worked". Now, the upper management is being forced to realize that it can't limp along anymore.

unfortunately they're not positions of authority (which are reserved for Wagoner's bootlickers)

Agreed.

The anti-status quo upper management group is coalescing. The new CFO, Fritz Henderson, said after the speech that "Making decisions with a sense of urgency is the right thing to do. I don't know what 'crisis mode' is, but I feel like I'm there."

"Frankly, there's a lot that he had to say that I agree with."
