"One other point. I am sure the majority of all senators and representatives received Abramoff money in one way or another. Democrats are portraying this as a Republican scandal but their hands are not clean on this because Abramoff was lining his pockets while donating to both parties. He simple put the money where he thought it would do the most good."

There was a discussion on the Tony Snow thread about a week ago wrt an interview Wolf Blizter did w Howie Dean.

"Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean denied on Sunday that any Democrats had taken money from lobbyist Jack Abramoff, even though several top Dems - including Sen. Hillary Clinton - have already announced they were giving their tainted Abramoff cash to charity."

"That little detail didn't faze Dean, however - who insisted with a straight face to CNN's Wolf Blitzer:

"There are no Democrats who took money from Jack Abramoff, not one, not one single Democrat. Every person named in this scandal is a Republican. Every person under investigation is a Republican. Every person indicted is a Republican."

Here is my response to that and also a link to funds, in case some of you haven't been to this site, I found it interesting (sorry if this is old news to you, I've had personal commitments that have not allowed me to participate in the Sunday thread since before Christmas):

Dr. Demento is playing the Dim game and parsing his words. According to the list on this site, Dims took Abramaoff-related $ (e.g., from the Indian Tribes, etc.). However, if you change the sort to "Detail By Donor" and "Abramaoff, Jack A & Pamela" there are only R's on the list. Dims obviously took 'Abramoff-related money, but, according to this list, it doesn't appear they received any 'Abramaoff personal money'.

For the rest of his comment, if Wolfie was acting like a journalist (something he's forgotten how to do, if he ever knew), he would have

1) reminded Dean that no congresscritters not R or D have yet been indicted for this 'scandal'

2) asked if Dean knows someone at DOJ that has provided him w a list of all of the congresscritters under investigation - so far, we're not aware of the release of any such list and the only one we're aware of under investigation is Abramaoff, and, his Indian clients were equal opportunity contributors (e.g., Dim and Pubbies).

Harry Reid said the same thing. I will be interested in what the investigation turns up.
