"Since you are in Denver, what happened to the property of good old Lowry AFB?"
I grew up in Denver and my dad was stationed at Lowry. Was back a couple of years ago and made it a point to drive by (was only by the eastern portion). Couldn't believe what I saw! In some respects it saddened me a bit.
Lowry was a very good place when I was there. Excellent instructors with advanced study material that would blow your average college away. I'm very sad if it went to hell as you describe it. I remember it as a clean, well-kept base where the best of our NATO friends would come to learn advanced technology along with all of our different military services.
