Hedda Nussbaum no longer dealing with spousal abuse. Meanwhile, Lisa Steinberg remains dead.
By the way, the Barry Scheck in this story is the same Barry Scheck on O J Simpson's dream team. Some have no shame.
I don't buy this crap. She let it happen. She knew he didn't like the child because he belonged to another man. She chose this scumbag over her own child. She's sad, too late sister!!! I can't think of a torture that would be severe enough for this piece of trash.
"You're the victim here!"
is it not a crying shame how quick people are to come to the rescue of a young beautiful girl now that she is dead rather than seeing her and watch her , listening to twhat was being said and now they all what to try to help!! The Mother of all people should have been the first to step up to the plate and go to bat for her daughters life, than came the neighbors, teachers and ACS workers who saw the girl and talked to the girl, They all will have to suffer knowing they did nothing to help this helpless child. The death will and should be put in their hands.....

Alright guys here is the deal:
Hedda Nussbaum was abused for nearly ten years. Contrary to popular belief, she tried to leave time and time again. She went to a hospital near where she lived THE VERY FIRST time she was abused (that is, hit; the physical abuse started far after the psychological). She told the doctor that her boyfriend had hit her, and then fearing what he would do if he found out, told the doctor “never mind”. The doctor crossed off that note and asked no more questions.
Shelters sent her to hospitals, who called her husband to pick her up. When she called her father to help her, Joel arrived home while she was packing and beat her severely, and then demanded she tell her father not to worry. She tried to leave 6 times before Lisa was killed.
This man wouldn’t let her sleep or eat. He beat her to the point of near death multiple times. He wouldn’t let her leave their home or allow people close.
I’m not sure why this is hard to understand, but there was nothing wrong with Hedda. She reacted as anyone would who was treated this way. Joel Steinberg is a monster, a monster who had three victims; the infant tied to his bed with string, the woman who tried to leave time and again until she found out that no one would help her, and of course the young child that did nothing wrong but who was beaten to death by a man with no soul.
I cried when I first heard this story, but I find it amazing that the tragic death of young Lisa probably inadvertently saved the lives of her mother and brother.
I hear Joel Steinberg is getting a cable tv show. Where’s the justice in that?
