I can see us now beside the sea. A butter pecan martini for you and a chocolate maritni for me. LOL.
Yes Bahama Mama, I will be there with all of the freepers. My daughter cannot go this year so I will have a friend with me. We made reservations yesterday.
Freepers I have been on the last two cruises and I can tell you that it is fun fun fun. Bahama Mama sees to that. She works not only before the cruise but during the cruise for a fun time.
Now get busy and call Wanda (our cruise Lady). She is waiting to book everything for you.
Hey Dalereed, cannot wait to see you and Sheryle again. I think that I met her twin sister in Italy last fall. If not her, I sure thought so.
We'll have fun, no doubt about it. If everyone knew how much, the ship would be loaded with freepers and it would start listing.....to the right, of course!
See y'all in May!.
P.S. We still need a roomie for one of our long time freeperettes. Freepmail me at "MinuteGal" if you're interested.
Bahama Mama
Mrs. Graybeard and I are looking forward to meeting you.
We're sitting on top of the world
Just freepin' along, just freepin' along
We're watching the blues of the libs
Just moanin' along, just whining along
Glory Hal-la-lujah, I just phoned the Prez
"Hey, Prez, we're havin' a cruise
"Just like Judge Alito
"We don't like to lose"
We're sittin' on top of the world
Just freepin' along, just singin' a song
There won't be no blues on our cruise
Just sailin' along, just sailin' along
Bahama Mama
Graybeard, I am looking forward to meeting you and Mrs. Graybeard. I know you both will enjoy this cruise. It is so good for me to meet new friends and to greet old friends.
Other attractions are the world famous beach at Magen's Bay and a breathtakingly-scenic tram ride to the top of the mountain that overlooks Charlotte Amalie's port where we disembark from tenders.
There's no customs duties on watches, cameras, perfume, jewelry, liquor, china or leather goods in any shop on the island.
Passengers are allowed a duty-free allowance of $1200, twice the quota of any other Caribbean island and three times that of European countries.
I personally prefer shopping in the Havensight Mall near dockside than to go into downtown Charlotte Amalie (capital of St. Thomas). I'll tell you about Havensight in my next post.
Be sure to phone Wanda ASAP at 1-800-266-1167 to get your booking taken care of in a no-hassle way. Wanda know our group's wants and needs, and you'll be pleased at how everything runs so smoothly.
Phone now and be eligible for the $50 shipboard-credit prize which will be awarded by random drawing to three of the first 20 cabins booked.
"Shop on, oh ship of state....."

Received my reservations and paper work in the mail - It's a done deal!

Prior to one of our past FReeps Ahoy cruises, there was a little poetry contest on the cruise thread. The operative word was "sand". Freepers are so talented! Each of these artistes could well be the next poet laureate of the United States:
Here's a jingle that is as apropos today as it was on the first freeper cruise:
If there's one thing in life I just cannot stand
It's a sloshed Ted Kennedy beached high on the sand
So let's make like the fruitcakes of PETA'S foul kind
And push the "RAT out to sea on his big fat behind
From the noble.....
Straight from our hand
In Bahamanian sand
Freepers will plan
To retake our land
....to the deeply personal......
in the misty moonlight
by the flickering firelight
everything's not alright
lying on the sand.....
I can't move my fingers
and my memory lingers
on this constant pain 'cause
you're standing on my hand
From a freeper who minces no words:
I hate getting sand in my bathing suit
'Cause it makes me walk like a flaming fruit
Here's a freeper who's really up on famous rock bands......
Hope there will be music
From the Parrot Head Band
So I can blow out my flip-flops
While dancing on the sand
The usual whiner and complainer:
Lying on the sand
I will soon be tanned
Of course the health nazis
Want it to be banned
Now here's a freeper who takes a lot for granted:
A boatload of Freepers
Won't it be grand
No libs, pervs or whackos
Just FRiends, surf and sand
Here's the type to watch out for....
The sound of a good steel band
And the feel of my feet on warm sand
Will just start me dancing
It's so mood enhancing
I hope I don't get out of hand!
From the obscure........
Sand in a funnel ran
Like the life of a Land
(hic)
.....to my kind of freeper......
Freepers, sand and a bright blue sky
Raise your drink, here's mud in your eye!
How can anyone resist sailing with such gifted poets and wits? Sign on for the cruise right away. Rub elbows every day for a week with the FR literary elite.
Bahama Mama
I'd rather be a literal eaterary than a literary elite, thank you. It's one thing I do well.
Great word-play, Graybeard.
I hereby dub you a member in good standing of the Freeper Dead Poets Society.
(P.S....don't try to say your words when you're under the influence).

A morning shopping excursion is just the ticket, with the rest of the day open for anything your heart desires.
"Havensight Mall" in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas is down a piece on the bayfront boulevard where we disembark. It's within walking distance, but there's a dandy complimentary open-air trolley that will take you to and fro the ship.
Havensight is a fun place to do your St. Thomas shopping. Since it's close-by, you don't have to cab into the hot, crowded downtown to experience the essence of great duty-free shopping. Almost all the major stores in downtown have a ditto in Havensight.
In the clear bright sunlight, you can see the great ships docked in the port from the gate leading into the open-air mall. It's quite a sight!
You can stroll down its shady tree-lined streets canopied by giant old mahogany trees. Stop and enjoy a cool tropical drink at an outdoor kiosk. Sit by a cool fountain and watch people from around the world go by in a fascinating and ever-changing kaleidoscope. Enjoy an outdoor steel band or entertainment by native performers.
You'll love the gift stores and boutiques, and the native craft shops. Jewelry, cosmetics, liquors, books, tropical swim wear and other clothing, cafes, perfume.....all this can be found in Havensight.
Here's where your Bahama Mama buys some things to take home. I'm not into big stuff, but always find something small, unique and inexpensive for souvenirs.
I like to find an interesting tidbit for my neighbor who watches my place and takes in my mail when I'm gone. I allways find something just right in the native craft store or in a boutique.
Maybe you'll want some unique tiny toys for the grandkids, or a some nice summer beads for your daughters or sisters. Or maybe a bottle of delicious hard-to-find-in-the-states rum punch for your father-in-law or a pound package of famous Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.
When you're done in the mall, the trolley is just outside the gate and you and your shopping bag of treasures will be whisked along the scenic boulevard back to our ship.
If you're not taking a shore tour in St. Thomas, visiting Havensight after breakfast and then returning to the ship for lunch is a perfect idea. You can then enjoy a leisurely afternoon for a nap, or explore the 1000 things to do and see on the magnificent Caribbean Princess.
Work on your tan by one of the pools. Or just grab a book and a shady outside deck lounge on the mostly empty ship for a lazy afternoon reading and enjoying the incredibly scenic port vista when you look up.
Happy shopping or just lolling in St. Thomas!
Bahama Mama
You can also see where the tour vans and taxis await to take you on sight-seeing drives and to attractions on the island.
How would you like to own a vacation home on a hill overlooking this tranquil but active bay....oh, yes indeedy.
When we're docked in port all day, jet skis constantly fly around the ship, darting here and there. The tourist drivers are taking ganders at our ship while we're taking a gander and waving at them.
The lure of viewing and inhaling the colors, sights and sounds of this port from shipboard is almost irresistable.
Bahama Mama
Gosh, am I looking forward to some sun and fun.
Well I cannot take much sun as I burn too quick, however am looking forward to lolling in the Caribbean with my great friend from high school (been friends a longggggg time)
and all of the fellow freepers.
I am going to miss my daughter, sister and niece this year. They were on the last two freeper cruises with me.
Bahama Mama
Now, here's a cruise!
EXCURSION TO THE HOLY LAND, EGYPT, THE CRIMEA, GREECE, AND INTERMEDIATE POINTS OF INTEREST. BROOKLYN, February 1st, 1867
http://mark-twain.classic-literature.co.uk/the-innocents-abroad/ebook-page-06.asp
The price of passage is fixed at $1,250, currency
Five dollars per day, in gold, it is believed, will be a fair calculation to make for all traveling expenses onshore
The trip can be extended, and the route changed, by unanimous vote of the passengers.
Paris, England, Scotland, Switzerland, Italy--Garibaldi! The Grecian Archipelago! Vesuvius! Constantinople! Smyrna! The Holy Land! Egypt and "our friends the Bermudians"! People in Europe desiring to join the excursion--contagious sickness to be avoided--boating at the expense of the ship--physician on board--the circuit of the globe to be made if the passengers unanimously desired it-
