AHOY THERE ! ! ! ! SPECIAL NOTICE ! ! ! PRIZE DRAWING TO BE HELD ! ! !

The drawing for first of three $50 on-board-credit prizes will be held this coming Tuesday, February 7.

All officially booked cabins in Wanda's hopper as of midnight EST Monday, February 6 will be eligible to be a winner.

The winning cabin number will be picked in a random drawing by our Admiral of the FReep, Jim Robinson.

Notice of the winner will be posted on this cruise thread on Wednesday, February 8.

The names of all cabin holders except for winners will remain in the hat for the second and third drawings to be held in coming weeks.

I urge all vacillators, procrastinators, hesitators and fornicators to sign up with Wanda either tomorrow (Friday) or this coming Monday in order to be included in the drawing.....and also to be eligible for two future drawings if you're not one of the chosen this time.

Wanda's phone number is 1-800-266-1167 (California business hours).

What nicer way is there to sail away from Port Everglades than to have 50 dollars in walkin'-around money in your ship's account to spend any way you want?

Be sure to click on this thread next Wednesday for the name of the lucky prize-winner.

Again, you must be registered by midnight EST this coming Monday in order to win. The winner will be announced on this thread next Wednesday.

Good luck to all cabin holders!

Two more generous freepers have come forward with donations of table prizes for our cruise. Bahama Mama will expound on them tomorrow morning after she catches a good night's sleep in her little grass shack on a secluded Bahamanian beach hideaway.

Everyone in our group puts his/her name in our sailor hat at dinner time in the ship's beautiful Palm Dining Room.

Sometime between the wine toasts and the appetizer course of Hawaiian Pineapple Fan Studded with Honey Roasted Pistachios, a name will be drawn and someone will poke an elbow into the winner's side.

The winner is mandated to buy after-dinner drinks of Chocolate Kalua Cappuccino with Crushed Toffee-sprinkled Whipped Cream for the whole freeper party.......or be suspended or banned.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's additions to our prize list from two more of our admirable freeper donors.

Now you got me started on "The Innocent's Abroad" and I can't stop reading it.

See what you've done, you rascal you!

I just recently discovered online books and am rereading Twain. I finished "A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur's Court", "Roughing It" and am now reading "Innocents Abroad"

All books in the public domain are free. What a great thing the internet is!

The library is sort of free too, (paid for by taxes) but my little town doesn't have a library. Three times in the past 12 years we have voted on whether to join a nearby town's library district and 3 times it has been voted down. It would raise property taxes a couple dollars a year and the folks in this town won't go for that. The one thing I wouldn't mind so much being taxed for and we don't have it.

Our good freeper from Illinois, Oswegodeee, is generously donating a great table prize for our cruise. She and her husband are the owners of a fine, critically-acclaimed restaurant, "Savannah's Southern Bistro" in one of Chicago's western suburbs (Aurora, Naperville area). It specializes in real southern low-country cuisine.

Savannah's imports the finest and most costly teas directly from the plantations of the East and other areas of the world. Oswegodeee will donate a gift box prize with several 4 oz quantities of packages chosen from the following loose teas:

Green Snail, a superior green tea, each leaf rolled to look like a snail. The most flavorful green tea, ever.

Green tea with orange zest, a refreshing drink. Great hot or iced.

English Breakfast, a blend of Assam, Darjeeling and Kenya black tea. A traditional English tea.

Black Ceylon directly imported from the Galaboda Tea Plantation high in the mountains above Columbo, Sri Lanka. Refreshing, smooth, great plain or with milk and sugar.

Black Nilgiri from the Parkside Tea Plantation. This tea is grown in the hills of Tamil Madu and Kerala, India. An aromatic, smooth black tea which is perfect hot or iced or to use with fruit juice to make a tea punch.

The teas come in sleek airtight cannisters which you can use forever.

The gift box will also include an IngenuiTEA tea maker, a modern marvel for the Tea Snob. It's a sensation on the market. Just put in your loose tea and boiling water, let it steep and pour. No fuss, no mess. Makes two cups.

If that isn't enough for you, there'll be a package of Jasmine Oolong, just wonderful with Oriental foods. A great tea to keep on hand when you order in Chinese!

The goodies keep coming! How about some luscious snacks to go with your cuppa?

Oswegodee will select some goodies from a list which includes Scottish All-Butter Shortbread Cookies, Cranberry Orange Scone Mix, Lime Smacker Cookies, and Dark Chocolate-Frosted Chocolate Macadamia Biscotti.

One of our cruiser freepers will win this fabulous prize at dinner some evening. Why not YOU? Make your reservation right now with Wanda and you'll also be eligible THREE times to win a $50 on-board-credit prize to spend any way you want on the cruise.

Please don't wait till it's too late to do anything but wail and gnash your teeth.

Our heartfelt thanks to Oswegodeee for her contribution to help make our trip a success and raise a few bucks for FR.

To Dee and hubby, you're both the FReepingest!

P.S.....Bizzy Bugz won a tea gift basket (again donated by Oswegodeee) on our last cruise, FReeps Ahoy 3. That basket one was creatively different, more of a selection of great items for a Victorian high tea.

Bizzy is a southern belle from Alabama, so she won the perfect gift for a southern tea party.

Bizzy, do you feel lucky again this cruise???

Yes Bahama Mama, The basket was very large and beautiful. It was chocked full of the best tea, goodies and a beautiful tea pot and cup and saucer to match the teapot. I took it to my daughters and we had tea every afternoon. Morning also. LOL
I will be in line for that gift this year too. However, I would have to pass it to someone else as I would not like to take the best every time.
I am just waiting for the ship to sail with all of the freepers on board.

I guess someone has told you by now, that the top photo in Post 363 IS NOT the Caribbean Princess. I just noticed that the outdoor movie (Movie Under the Stars) is not in that picture. I think the picture might actually be the Grand or Golden?
This is the REAL Caribbean Princess, I've been on it three times:

From a photo I took on my last cruise on the Caribbean Princess. Darn it, I wish I could go with you guys.

THIS JUST IN......Bahama Mama just received a message from a most generous freeper who wants to be anonymous. We have another great table prize to be won by somebody in our group during one of our festive dinners on board.

I think we'll award this on Italian night when the dinner will feature an awesome variety of Italian entrees and delicacies, oh mio.

The prize is a stainless steel pasta holder in a sleek modern design. Along with it is a silver serving fork designed especially for lifting pasta out of a serving bowl.

To set off your home Italian dinner, there's six striking table mats, each with a painting of Portofino's harbor. These mats are done in a brilliant array of colors that will contribute to a stunning table arrangement.

Topping off this Italian festival of goodies is a selection of fine pasta varieties for your dining pleasure.

All you'll need for an intimate Italian dinner for six will be a couple bottles of a good chianti, sparkling wine glasses, a dripping candle centerpiece and a huge bowl of steaming spaghetti.

Don't forget the antipasto, the crispy garlic bread and the creamy tiramisu.

Let me know what time to be there.

Freeper friends, study up on this cruise over the weekend. There's an index on # 469 to help you find basic info such as itinerary and booking.

You don't want to miss this great freeper cruise. Phone Wanda on Monday for all your options in finding a cabin within your budget. She'll work with you patiently till you're satisfied.

If you book before her office closes on Monday, you'll be eligible for next week's drawing for the first of our three $50 on-board-credit prizes that'll be applied to your ship account. A little extra spending money on a cruise is a GOOD THING, as Martha Stewart told me a few days ago.

Don't diddle-daddle. You want a good location in or near Freeper Row before the ship is full-up.

Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't noticed. I thought the screen was aft pointed facing the rear of the ship, so I didn't look for it in the graphic I posted.
