Brigadier Nigel Aylwin-Foster accused the Americans of "cultural insensitivity" that amounted to institutional racism and "moral righteousness" which led in extreme cases to distorted military judgments.

Writing in the US army-published Military Review magazine, Brigadier Aylwin-Foster, who was the deputy commander of a programme training the Iraqi military, said the failings may have spurred the growth of....

I wonder if he would say that the US soldiers who occupied Germany after saving Britain's a** were "culturally insensitive" to the Nazis they defeated.

A flippant comment, yes, but how on Earth do his comments do anything other than hurt our effort?

Can one take seriously anything said by a man named "Brigadier Nigel Aylwin-Foster"? Oh, I'm sorry, is that racism???!

Also, what the heck is wrong with "moral righteousness"? That's a GOOD thing, right?

However, Colonel Kevin Benson, the commander of the US army's elite School of Advanced Military Studies, said: "I think he's an insufferable British snob."

Wish the ghost Edward I would come back to hang, draw, and quarter this poofter.

A painful topic for Edward I, given his son, Edward II -- but less painful than for Edward II himself.

When I was in in the UK one night while watching tv, they had a report about an accident on the M4. It involved two cars and a delivery van. The report said that four people were hurt aslo, two dogs in the van were hurt which was owned by a pet store and the driver, one pakistani national. In that order.

ANd who are the racists?

My friends (UK Army) that served in Iraq had a few comments about the US Army. The main concern was not racism but that all the multi-national forces had different rules of engagement, causing a lot of problems.

The second concern was that the Americans had their own mobile McDonalds in the middle of Iraq, which everyone thought was strange but also they were quite envious.

Weave the warp, and weave the woof,
The winding-sheet of Edward’s race.
Give ample room, and verge enough
The characters of hell to trace.
Mark the year, and mark the night,
When Severn shall re-echo with affright
The shrieks of death, thro’ Berkley’s roofs that ring,
Shrieks of an agonizing King!
She-Wolf of France, with unrelenting fangs,
That tear’st the bowels of thy mangled Mate.

We had three threads on this last week cumulating with freepers admitting they hadn’t read the document in question and that the media had taken sentences out of context.

This was article written by a senior British officer to be read by senior British and American Officers to discuss and debate on the current strategy in Iraq

The magazine was a American military periodical.
