You might enjoy reading Albion's Seed by History Professor David Hackett Fisher (the same man who won the Pulitzer Prize for Washington's Crossing last year). Some of the "Ebonics" you reference is the way the white, aristocratic, cavaliers talked when they came to Virginia in the 1600s. They brought their speech ways from England and some of those ways continue to this day. In other words, your white ancestors (if you are white) may have been, and my white ancestors certainly were, responsible for bringing that way of talking to the New World.
