Speaking as a PhD in a chemistry-type area, this isn't something you want to screw around with.As a molecular biologist, I will second your concern. Cyanide is bad for your cytochrome C. You need to be prepared with IV drips of sodium nitrite and sodium thiosulphate for on the spot treatment. Cyanide is not very forgiving.
