Slimy coincidence: On the very day that an independent counsel's report implicates members of the Clinton administration for what sounds, smells and looks like obstruction of justice in the Henry Cisneros probe, President Clinton, who pardoned Mr. Cisneros, today becomes eligible to once again practice law. Mr. Clinton cut a deal on his last day in office to give up his right to practice law in Arkansas to avoid prosecution for lying. Birds of a feather... . Sen. Foot-in-Mouth: Hillary Clinton, thought to covet the White House for herself in 2008, won't get out of the primaries if she keeps spouting off as she did at Martin Luther King Jr. Day festivities in New York: "When you look at the way the House of Representatives has been run -- it has been run like a plantation. You know what I'm talking about." Meet Howard Dean Jr.

Reneging Democrats: Last fall, Republicans acquiesced to Democrat demands for a one-month delay in Supreme Court Justice-designate Sam Alito's confirmation hearings. In return, Democrats agreed to a quick vote once the hearings concluded. The Senate Judiciary Committee vote was supposed to have been this past Tuesday. Obstructionist-minded Democrats whined. Spineless Republicans caved. The vote now won't come until this coming Tuesday. Judge Alito will be approved by the committee and by the full Senate. Democrats are playing games. As usual.
