The word "He" was capitalized, and everybody knows when you capitalize the personal pronouns "He," "His," etc. you are referring to the supreme Deity.

In the context, I thought she meant God. It was only with careful re-reading that I concluded she probably meant Nagin, not God.

Well, it also says in the New Testament that husbands should make the coffee, not wives. It's right between the books of Philemon and James -- "He brews."
