For a second there, I thought Hamas had come out in support of Ed Rendell and Bob Casey Jr.

Hamas are not "so-called terrorists." It may be, however, that Jimmy Carter is a "so-called American." He has yet to meet an overseas murderer or dictator that he did not like. What a maroon!

If he meets up with another crazed rabbit, I'm rooting for the rabbit, as in "Mnty Python;s Quest for the Holy Grail."

Aw jeeze, not Jimmuh again!!!!!!!! Just like chewing gum on the bottom of a shoe, no matter how much you scrape it off, some of it still sticks! The man is a disgrace to the South, an appeaser of tinpot dictators and despots. If he'd been around in 1864, he'd have given Sherman detailed maps to Atlanta and from Atlanta to Savannah, and lit the match for Sherman to burn Atlanta! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! He's worse than sugar in cornbread!!!!!!!!

"Carter told CNN in an interview that although Hamas were 'so-called terrorists'. . . ."

His use of the word "so-called," of course, signifies that in his own mind, he does not believe it to be true that Hamas does practice terrorism.

The Far Left really knows how to turn a phrase in their efforts to invalidate widely-held concepts.

Carter and the other Radical Left Democrats make it a practice to claim moral equivalency for the ideas of totalitarianism and terrorism with the ideas of liberty outlined in our Declaration of Independence and incorporated into our Constitution's protections for citizens of the U. S., as it delegated powers to their President and Congress to conduct wars against those who threatened their liberty.

There is a good analysis of the so-called "peace movement" (there, we can do it too), and its use of the doctrine of moral equivalency to mislead citizens, by Rev. Johannes L. Jacobse, a priest in the Greek Orthodox Diocese of America, which can be read here.

It is truly sad that citizens, like Carter, who were themselves beneficiaries of the ideas of liberty and who rise from nothing to position and power in their nation, can so devalue those ideas in the eyes of the world!

Yeah, but unfortunately his Secret Service agents are all packing Holy Hand Grenades, given Carter's history of being subject to attack rabbits.

I feel like ap-cray everytime that idiot says something since I voted for him.

Don't feel lonely.

During the election campaign there were a lot of us [notice the me in the word us] who where going to vote for for him.

By the end of his term there wasn't anyone who voted for him.

It's a mystery to me how he got elected.

Sweet Jesus, won't this guy do us a favor and just die?

His administration was an outright disaster, and since then he has been one disaster after another.- At least for America, that is.

A real walking stiff who needs a hole to fall in.

"Former US president Jimmy Carter expressed optimism Friday over Hamas's participation in next week's Palestinian parliamentary elections."

I kind of feel bad for the Palestineans now. Every foreign country or dispute Carter has been involved with has resulted in death and disaster. Carter is the black cat you don't want crossing your path, because bad stuff is definitely going to happen to you.

Mr. Carter, after ripping away all American support from the Shah, he allowed the very Islamic fanatics we are confronting today, to gain control over OPEC's second most valuable exporting nation. Now Islamic Iran is threatening to ignite World War III!

The list is long on Carter's sellout tactics to sworn enemies, as with the Cuban-Russian supported Sandinista in Nicaragua to drug pushing thugs controlling the Panama Canal, to not helping freedom movements batting the Soviet supported Communists in Mozambique, Angola & Zimbabwe.

The ex-liberal President's his most alarming statement of all "Brezhnev lied to me" immediately after the Soviet Red coup & invasion of Afghanistan.

Mr Carter have you no shame?

...although Hamas were "so-called terrorists," so far "there have been no complaints of corruption against [their] elected officials."

Translation: although Hamas is reported by conservative extremists to murder innocent civilians and demand the extinction of the Jews, they can't be as bad as the Bush administration.

He...compared the current situation to negotiations with the PLO, which was still outlawed as a terrorist organization during his presidency.

Exactly. Negotiations with Hamas will yield the same tragedy that negotiations with the PLO did.
