Jack Abramoff's Dad Blasts George Clooney

The father of embattled lobbyist Jack Abramoff has lashed out against George Clooney for what he calls a "glib and ridiculous attack” on his son during the Golden Globe awards presentation.

Clooney, during his acceptance speech for the best supporting actor award on Monday, thanked Jack Abramoff "just because” and made a comment about the lobbyist’s name.

"Who would name their kid Jack with the last words ‘off’ at the end of your last name? No wonder that guy is screwed up,” Clooney told the audience.

Abramoff’s furious father Frank, in an open letter sent to the Desert Sun newspaper in Palm Springs, Calif., said his son is named after Frank’s beloved father, and scolded Clooney for his "lapse in lucidity.”

I also enjoyed reading the letter blasting Clooney. I hope he & all his ilk read it and feel a whole lot smaller. I make it a policy never to see a movie that Clooney has had anything to do with....and it is usually easy. I have never understood why anyone thinks he is talented or good looking. His acting is average at best & so are his looks. He could make up for those shortcomings with a great personality, but alas he fails in that category as well. He is a truly awful human being.

Yeah, Mike's got the gist. I don't remember the exact quote but is was a jab, a sick attempt at leftist humor (an oxymoron, I know), about Heston's condition. It was pathetic, and frankly, unforgiveable, considering that C-looney never issued an apology.
