Shooting yourself in the foot (Will Hillary's 'plantation' crack cost her in '06 or '08?)

Hillary's not cooked, but she scr*wed up - and everyone knows it.

Liberals are a lot of things, but most of all they're not very forgiving. They'll turn on their own like nothing you've ever seen - if they feel someone has become a liability.

Jimmy Carter was banned from Clinton's convention. Dukakis was shunned after his huge-helmet tank pic (which reminds this poster of Hillary's plantation remark just a bit)

Now not only has Hillary shown herself to be suspect in the honesty and party purity tests - she has embarrassed fellow liberals.

It's worth enjoying and taking full advantage of as either a conservative or libertarian - it's an honest to goodness Howard Dean scream moment and will make someone a fine campaign commercial, but it could also be the first crack in her cloak of perceived invincibility.

If liberals discover somehow she's not invincible - she's toast.

I say make fun of her a LOT. Liberals have no sense of humor. They'll throw her overboard.

No she is a democrat and the democrats can say anything without having to pay the price of defeat.

YOUGOTIT, you got it.

You're stretching it a bit, aren't you? Come on, make it more real; no one would be that blind. ;)

Democrats can be as vile and ugly with no repurcussions because their constituents name for that is passionate. If a Republican were to make similar statements, it is reason to have them stand down or be impeached.

Hillary's latest comments damage her beyond repair. Her chances in 2008? Put a fork in her - she's done.

Call it what you want but given the short memory of the socialists who seem to have forgotten about 9/11, Hillary's remarks will be forgotten and never mentioned again by the MSM. She will be rarin' to go in '08.........

The other night...when FR went down...I checked out DUmmieland, and Daily KOS...

And they ARE relentless when they feel that one of their one has betrayed them..

They were really slamming Chrissy Matthews, Joe Biden, and Harry Reid that night!! LOL

"Just when we were beginning to think Hillary Clinton had found her voice - albeit a decidedly phony one - as a mature, seasoned politician poised for a presidential run"

Say what?

What I wonder about is why she said it. It was intentional for sure- she has said it before- but why? There must be some constituency that she thinks will respond to this positively to keep repeating it.
On another but similar subject, don't you just love the dilemma the Dems find themselves in when they run for President? They have to go waaaaay left to appeal to the base because those are the voters in the primaries but then they are screwed in the national election because all their speeches and comments are on tape and the country will not go for a lefty.

I know of no woman who vote for her either. No one. Not even a liberal sister.

I agree; my mother-in-law, a Yellow Dog, despises her. (I think I am winning her over; she agrees with me about New Orleans AND Nagin and Blanco.)

"Please try not to use "Hillary's" and "crack" in the same sentence..."

Hillary's a very cunning linguist. Is that better?

She'll never be President. The guys in the smokey back rooms will see to that.

Boy, did Nagin ever step in it! "New Orleans has always been a chocolate city and will be again because God wants it to be a chocolate city!" What a maroon!

Will I get the boot from FR if I support Hilly for the nomination?

Hillary's "plantation" comment is certainly the GOP's debate advantage. Any GOPer should hound her to explain why she is a racist. She could not defend herself. She uses tha race card, therefore, she is a racist. Is she any different than Jesse Jackson?

nothing hilly does will hurt her. the msm is still very powerful and they badly want her in. they will just ignore any messups and go on raving about her.

I am of the opinion this is all about her senate race. She wants a huge african american vote and she'll get it.

Next up she's pandering to her jewish constituents in NY by saying that the President has put the Iran nuclear issue on the back burner.

Barnes is singing McCain's song. Making the scandal into something it is not. I doubt many Americans are surprised or turned off by the thought of lobbyists paying congress critters.

I was watching the "View" on Friday and they were discussing Hillary. Barbara Walters, Meredith Viera and Star Jones are some of the biggest liberals on the planet and I think even they may have given up on Hillary and looking for an alternative. Joy Behar was saying, "A friend told me that 10 viable Democrat candidates will emerge in 2006-Where are they???"

I was kind of dreading Hillary running in 08 but now after this "phopa" I am kinda looking forward to beating her.

I spend more time talking to conservative friends about her, than about anything else. And I tell them all the same thing. She's their bete noire, their bogeyman under the bed, and they've got nothing to worry about. She won't be the nominee in '08. There's nothing under the bed, friends. She can't hurt you. She's nothing but a vessel of your childish fears.
