OSAMA bin Laden has turned an obscure book by a radical Washington historian into one of the nation's best sellers by recommending it in his latest verbal attack on the United States. Since the Al-Qaeda leader mentioned "Rogue State: A Guide to the World's Only Superpower" in his tape last Thursday, William Blum's book has gone from 205,763 on the Amazon.com list of best sellers to number 27 on Saturday. As he fought off media attention, Mr Blum, 72, who lives in a one-room apartment in the US capital, told US media he had no regrets about the boost from bin Laden and had not received any threats. "This is almost as good as being an Oprah book," he told the Washington Post, referring to the successful book club run by American television media celebrity Oprah Winfrey. "I was not turned off by the endorsement," he told a New York radio station. "I am not repulsed and I am not going to pretend I am." Terrorist and political experts started scrambling for reference books after bin Laden said in his message "if Bush carries on with his lies and oppression it would be useful for you to read 'Rogue State'." Bin Laden then went on to quote from Blum's book which says that if the writer were the US president he would "give an apology to all the widows and orphans and all those who were tortured. Then I would announce that American interference in the nations of the world has ended once and for all." Mr Blum said that up to Thursday "Rogue State" and his other book "Killing Hope" had sold about 150,000 copies in English and other languages. His publisher, Common Courage Press, could not give an estimate of the boost given by the mastermind of the September 11, 2001 attacks. Mr Blum has made it clear that there was no justification for the attacks on New York and Washington, but that they were "an understandable retaliation against US foreign policy." The son of Polish immigrants, Mr Blum worked at the State Department in the 1960s, but the Vietnam War turned him against US foreign policy and he quit to help found an underground newspaper, the Washington Free Press. Though "Rogue State" may not be to the taste of President George W. Bush's administration, it has many fans in academia. Peter Dale Scott, an author and former professor at the University of California at Berkeley, said: "Critics will call this a one-sided book. But it is an invaluable corrective to the establishment portrait of America as the world's greatest force for peace."
It is about time propagandists such as Blum were held accountable.
IMO, the more Bin Laden regurgitates left wing talking points and positions, the better.
You scratch his back, Osama will scratch yours.
Hmmmmm...this guy Blum must have been the nutter I saw on TV this morning. I walked into the room and there was this gray-haired geezer on TV talking like he forgot to take his meds, his pacemaker was malfunctioning, and his Depends were leaking. The title below him had "Rogue State" in the description.
You are probably right. However I think the lies that the left tell about the US could do with a little exposure as well. At present we are reliving the Viwtnam War era. Many of the same maggots are involved.
Almost everything, I suspect.
This episode illustrates once again the convergence and collusion between radical leftists in the west and radical Islamists. Even when they don't work hand-in-glove (and too often they do), their shared interest in destroying freedom, democracy, capitalism, and civilization itself makes them all true enemies of humanity. Both secular leftists and Islamo-fascists imagined that they will replace free democratic capitalism with their own radically different ideologies, but both leftists and Islamists are hordes of BARBARIANS who are enemies of humanity.
The book that everyone should be scurrying to order from Amazon is not Blum's little pile of excrement, but rather "Unholy Alliance" by David Horowitz, who perfectly describes the collusion and alliance among these dangerous charlatans:

Hopefully technological developments will move the world beyond dependence on oil.
There is a very good article relevant to this issue at this site:

Hopefully Echelon is intercepting the identities of the people who are buying the book through Amazon.com and BN.com so they can be investigated for terror ties.
Blum was on TV the other day. I think it was FOX. After listening to him spew his anti-American bovine scatology, it was obvious to me that only an total idiot would pay to buy his "book."
It sponds like a good way to waste money.
Naah, those with terror ties know that this is propaganda. Blum's book is for the rose-colored glasses folks.
Osama, here's my latest book. Needs a boost.

If acedemia loves it, it must be a waste of gooed paper.
Its too bad that we do not have a conservative version of Saturday Night Live. "Osama's Book Club"could be a regualr feature.
