Like I've said before on the Puff Ping threads. Why doesn't anyone ever say when they go nonsmoking, there are grant entitlements from the Cigarette Restitution Fund.

The thing of it is, most of the money is being paid for by smokers who pay taxes on cigarettes.  That is usually in the state that the smoker resides.

But this group is overseas.  So, I am not sure if our Federal Government is sending smokers tax dollars to that group or not.  This group is new to me.  I never heard of them before.

And I thought the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation were pigs!

Yikes. I'm not sure you followed all of this either. Most of this money is coming from an NGO. Not the feds!

What are Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs)

(joint) Transnational organizations of private citizens that maintain a consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Nongovernmental organizations may be professional associations, foundations, multinational businesses, or simply groups with a common interest in humanitarian assistance activities (development and relief). “Nongovernmental organizations” is a term normally used by non-United States organizations.

NGO Global Network
http://www.ngo.org

This site is the home page for our global NGO community (Non-governmental organizations associated with the United Nations).

Its aim is to help promote collaborations between NGOs throughout the world, so that together we can more effectively partner with the United Nations and each other to create a more peaceful, just, equitable and sustainable world for this and future generations.

blah blah blah
