Stick with the Rugers! Just about the most reliable and moderately priced .22 there is.
I have an old MkI. The pistol is nearly 30 years old, and it is still one of the most accurate in my collection.
They go bang every time you pull the trigger, they are easily repaired and upgraded, and there are enough aftermarket parts and bolt-ons to turn a standard pistol into a space-gun.
Depending on the type of events you are firing, might want to go with the shorter bull-barreled pistol. Shorter slug-time in the barrel, and heavy enough to be stable.
Good luck and good hunting!
Thanks for the encouragement. I had thought to try them out and then maybe drop in the Volquartsen trigger/sear/extractor combo to get the trigger pull down to 2 1/2 pounds. Depends on how the Ruger product shoots from the factory.
