And I dare say, the Border Patrol never crosses the line, either. And I'm not being sarcastic, I believe that to be the truth.

Even before the advent of GPS, it was a *very* rare occurrence, as higher command *really* frowned on tactical units straying into the territory of a sovereign nation and possibly causing "an international incident". Those officers who did so were usually relieved of command, and their military careers would come to a sudden, drastic halt.

These days, with GPS for land navigation purposes, it's for all intents and purposes impossible for a US military unit to inadvertantly stray across the border...
