Israel needs to work with Europe and figure out what they are going to do. Iran is the problem of those within missile range.

The US is not the savior of either Israel or Europe. I think getting Russia and China on board - as well as Turkey and Saudi Arabia is the wisest course. Then there will truly be "international agreement" about what to do.

Although, there is nothing "eternal" about an EMP attack... The effects would last about a year. However, having almost no power nationwide for a year may seem like an eternity (just imagine that! Nothing that uses electricity works for a year!).

An EMP is a major threat and a likely threat. It's the only way Iran has a chance of defeating the U.S. The military claims they would not be put in the dark, but I'm not confident of that. Even if the military is still at 100%, what about the country? There might not be much left to protect and defend.

Today's economy might be gone for an awfully long time. The disruption would be beyond enormous. Oil prices would probably drop below $10 a barrel.

I think getting Russia and China on board - as well as Turkey and Saudi Arabia is the wisest course. Then there will truly be "international agreement" about what to do.

But why would Europe, Russia or China care? Even more so, why should Turkey or Saudi Arabia go against a fellow muslim country to side with Israel?

I know the Europeans are within missile range, but the people of Europe have shown over and over that they do not want a fight and believe that appeasement is always the best course of action. From what I can tell, Europe believes Israel is the problem, not the muslim states.

There is no way that Europe would go to war (or even silently support one) and shut off their oil supply. If anything, the Europeans would see this situation as a way of crippling the US by having our oil supply cut off.

The Russians aren't as cowardly or naive as the rest of the Europeans, but they are very much self serving. A lot of the problems we have in the middle east now are due to the cold war meddling and propping up of governments by the US and Soviets. Regardless, the Russians have nothing to fear from Iran in the short term, so they can just sit back and let Isreal and the US do all the heavy lifting and take all the risks while they condemn us at every chance. Of course, Putin would assure Bush in private that he is for us.

The Chinese don't care either. The only possible thing that could trouble them would be if the US market collapses due to an oil embargo.

Realistically, we are stuck. The American people just won't support another war unless we are attacked. I know that sucks, but it is the political reality. The only hope is that the Israelies find a way (with our secret help) to deal with this situation.

'Mister' Najjar seems to have missed his place in time. . .perhaps he does not realize just how the world really works in 2006. . .

I assume his 'affairs' are in order. . .not that it would matter. . .

The amount of trash talk that come out of the mouths of the Moslems is inversely proportional to the actual fight they put up when someone decides to go ahead and kick their ass.

Case in point...1948,1956,1967,1973,1982. And the list goes on.

No one wants Ahmadinejad to have nukes. Not even Europe. Not Turkey or Saudi Arabia. Not China even. But each country has their own politcs - including America (as you point out).

Right now, this is Europe's and Israels problem. It is in their best interest to get an international consensus - and they do need Muslim countries.

This has the potential to ignite a world war. We need to use our heads. Fomenting revolution and even insurrection within Iran is what the US can help with right now. And we ought to be about that business, imo!

Europe, doing something about Iran? You're kidding, the only thing Europeans can do these days is to appease Muslims, they would rather roll over and die than Allah forbid defend themselves.

Didn't we hear similar rhetoric out of Iraq before we went in?

Not saying we will go in on the ground here....but

Its more than Europe's and Israel's problem....and I doubt we are looking at a world war....the bad guys - the real bad guys are not ready yet

I'll add that the reason they 'suffer' is that they are infected with the fatal disease that is Islam. Co-existence with Islam is like co-existence with cancer. Impossible. Cancer kills- that is it's purpose. Ditto with Islam.
It is PAST time for a Crusade of such epic proportions that it makes the original Crusades look like a debutante party.
A coma for Israel?
How about EXTINCTION for Islam? Total, eternal extinction that wipes them from the memory of mankind for all time?
They ok with that?

"Israel needs to work with Europe and figure out what they are going to do. Iran is the problem of those within missile range."

How about iran sitting in cuba with suitcase nukes? Suitcase nukes alone, make this everyones problem.

"The US is not the savior of either Israel or Europe. I think getting Russia and China on board - as well as Turkey and Saudi Arabia is the wisest course. Then there will truly be "international agreement" about what to do."

The last "international agreement" they came up with gave us the 'oil for food' scam, and 12 years of ignoring terrorist acts across the globe. We can't wait 12 years for old europe to get motivated enough to do something. Iran are the financiers of alot of our troubles at this time, too. Jamming radio freq. from the comfort of cuba, paying suicide bombers, sending arms and men against our soldiers in iraq---all acts of war. Wake up.
