What I find disturbing is that a lot of liberals might really believe that they are opposed to killing children even as they continue to claim it is a right. This kind of thinking is to my mind a demonstration of how far astray their moral compass has gone. I can accept people disagreeing on subjects like taxation and how much the government should do. Those are acceptable areas for honest debate and disagreement. But to say I am opposed to killing babies but its not my decision to make, brings to mind the scriptural warning about those who are neither hot nor cold. It really demonstrates a breathtaking capacity for self delusion.

This kind of thinking is to my mind a demonstration of how far astray their moral compass has gone.I've argued with a Democrat friend about this. His claim: it's not a human yet. It's a fetus. So while there is definately a moral issue at the heart of the debate I think it is more lack of basic logic that lets liberals hold a lot of their positions, including the abortion one. Someone trained in logic might ask these questions: 1) is a fetus human life (if not, what is it?) 2) is human life sacred and deserving of protection under law ? 3) QED a fetus is sacred and deserving of protection under law.
In my experience libs can't do basic logic like this, all they can do is "feel", "think" and "have opinions". There are exceptions, but this is the majority. (As we graduate fewer engineers and mathematicians and more womens studies majors I expect this trend will accelerate)

...brings to mind the scriptural warning about those who are neither hot nor cold. Or our own Patrick Henry:
"Pacifists are among the most immoral of men - they make no distinction between aggression and defense. Therefore, pacifism is one of the greatest allies an aggressor can have." - Patrick Henry

There are a lot of women who make the hypocritical claim that while THEY would never have an abortion, they feel it needs to be a right for everyone else. So while they're to good to kill their kid, it's OK for other people to do it.
"Everyone else" of course, would be young, single welfare mothers, minorities, and others who the libs feel shouldn't reproduce. After all, the libs figure those folks aren't enlightened.
It's almost eugenic in nature - totally disgusting.
