US President George W. Bush said Thursday he would not negotiate with Hamas until the terror group renounces its desire to destroy Israel.

In an interview to the Wall street Journal Bush said that a political party must support peace, and must act peacefully.

A State Department official said Wednesday that Hamas was a terror organization and that whoever denies Israel's right to exist cannot participate in a Palestinian government.

Well let's see. HAMAS is on the official terrorism list. We have to make sure it is not removed from that list.

Hammas is a terrorist organization, pure and simple.
But Israel has had two Prime Ministers, Begin and Schmir(sorry, I can`t spell)that were also terrorists.
When you blow up the King David Hotel full of women and kids, you are a terrorist.
My point is that, like it or not, we wanted the Palestinians to elect a government and they did. Now we must work with them while never letting Hammas to go nuts.

If Hamas renounces their intent to destroy Israel then what would be their point for existence? The whole distinction between Fatah and Hamas is that Fatah lies about their intent and Hamas doesn't bother lying about it.

Hamas is in an impossible political situation. Renouncing Israel's destruction as a policy would cost them their biggest financial backer and weapons supplier; Iran. Therefore it is ludicrous to even suggest that they would renounce this plank of their platform.

So when he came down and he was holding his cloak under his arm, they said to him: We sense from you a very fine smell. Having read their (un) Holy book I am in complete agreement with you. I wish that our politicians from both sides of the aisle would at least be interested enough in their positions to give the book a perusal. From their comments it is painfully obvious that they have never cracked the cover much less actually read the heinous tome.

I saw a piece a few days ago about Hamas' intent to become moderate after winning the Election, but I haven't found that article, yet. Anyway, Hamas will waffle or do whatever it has to do to get what it wants.

I think we're seeing our first major defeat in the war on terror. The Brotherhood now has a foot hold. Democracy got them in but I'll guarantee they won't let democracy take them out. It's going to be very interesting to see how the Bush Admin. and State Dept. handle this. In all reality the "road map" must be dead.
