The newly-elected Conservatives say they will make good as soon as possible on their leader's pledge to arm Canadian border guards, following a shootout on the Canada-U.S. border on Tuesday night.

Sounds like a very prudent move. A leader must protect his country first. He seems to be getting it.
Something leaders here in the USA don't seem to get -- at least, not where our southern border is concerned. Not even President Bush.
You wouldn't expect him to start off on teh left foot, would you?
This makes me wonder if this isn't the real reason the founding fathers wrote the second amendment. Did they assume the government at some time in the future would fail and the people would have to step in?
Good move. The Canadian border guards put up a roadblock then fled when they heard the perps were headed their way. Our guys and gals did the dirty work.
"Stop, or I'll wave my private parts at your Auntie", and whatnot.
