Bet you've never seen a biplane with a jet engine before.

"This is air space that is restricted. People can't fly in there. If they do, then they might find themselves escorted out," I'd go ahead and use the verbiage 'escorted DOWN'.

Does this mean we will have 'enemy' aircraft over Detroit. Oh, wait! The conservative won. "No, it's okay; they're our planes now." (Ron Silver, 1992 Clinton inaugural)

They're about the only Jets that are going to see a Super Bowl for the foreseeable future.

"If there is an aircraft or a blip that's not on our file flight plan, they can send the aircraft to intercept and identify it." The fuel tanker full of C-4, naturally, won't file a flight plan.
I sure do think all of this "response to terrorism" is ill-concieved. Looks mostly like the Propaganda Ministry in high gear for the benefit of chickens.

U.S. and Canadian fighter jets were scheduled to be roaring overhead, running exercises simulating a terrorist attack on next month's Super Bowl XL. Why are US and Canadian jets going to attack the Super Bowl?
Poorly worded news.

Yes, Canada does have a military, an air force and jet fighters ... blah, blah, blah So will the Canadian Navy bring its boat down to patrol the Detroit River?
(Just kidding!)

"This is air space that is restricted. People can't fly in there. If they do, then they might find themselves escorted out," Taking bets on the liklihood that some pinhead student pilot doesn't get the memo.

The Canadian planes are needed to prevent an attack from the south! (Take a look at the map if you wonder why!)

It's a good thing they have jets. I was afraid they'd be using Sopwith Camels.

It's the only way the Jets are going to get to the Superbowl anytime soon...

( At least they get bullets).

Waaaaay back in the mid-80s I was teaching F/A-18 systems at NAS Cecil Field we had Canadian troops sit through our program in preparation to receive these-
The Canadians I met were a bunch of stand-up guys. Military volunteers tend to be.

I hope the Canadians win this one...at least they didn't put up an asinine TFR, which helps show how bloody useless the U.S. ones are. Unless, of course, you're a corporation wanting to keep total control of ad revenues.

I'll check to see if the CAF planes are in Windsor. I'll get some pics if they are and post them.
