Posted on 01/26/2006 1:51:22 PM PST by frankjr
From a Senate source: Kerry's call for a filibuster comes after his leadership, that is, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, decided there won't be one. In other words, Kerry was making a brave, Kos-friendly pronouncement in the total confidence that a filibuster will never happen. And now, word is, he is off to Davos to continue what some Republicans are calling a "filibluster."
Kerry is Overseas - does that mean he will conveniently miss the vote next week?
Now That's Entertainment !!
The Davos Second-Handers Convention. How fitting.
Coward to the core. Waits till he's out of the U.S.
They should hold the vote while he's away.
Im not sure who got the raw end of that marraige???
What a pathetic, transparent attempt to suck up to the moonbats.
Let us hope and pray this fool runs again. Wonder if there's any chance he could get the nomination? Nah. We couldn't be that lucky.
Big balls on Kerry. (sarcasm off)
That's as brave as a Frenchman gets.
If BS were concrete, John F'in would be an Interstate Highway ..... FReeper
Yep. That's pretty good. Better than what I thought up.
Brave Brave Sir Kerry,
Sir Kerry ran away,
Sir Kerry ran away, away,
When danger reared its ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled,
He chickened out. . . . .
Yes, they are. Someone should write the "Brave Sir Kerry" to the tune of Monty Python's "Brave Sir Robin".
You did it while I was posting!
Okay, Johnny Boy. Put up or shut up. It only takes one Senator to stage a filibuster. Let's see how fast your compadres slap a cloture vote on you.
Still waiting for the release of your original 1972 Navy Discharge Under Other than Honorable Conditions. You promised to release it a year ago.
John Kerry reminds me of the dinner guest who offers to help clean up, just as the last plate is being dried and put away.
Hey John. Those aren't stars in your eyes, They're sold signs.
When was the last time he even saw anyone that votes for him? What the hell is he doing overseas that has anything to do with the people that elected the leach in the first place?
And he's not even in the country!
The DUers were/are in heaven over this.
It's a shame that Kohn has to go all the way to Davos for botox treatments.
"Bring it on", sissyboy.
Spread the word. Frist just called the question. Closure vote on Monday.
When Kerry's efforts fall flat - will the world see that his leadership is as flat as his wind-surfer.
What an idiot.
"He Served in Vietnam" Kerry really has them cheering over at DU. Filibluster! What a great term.
What the hell is he doing in Davos?? Oh no wait, now I remember, that's where the ubber rich go to ski....there just happens to be a "conference" going on....hope they don't bother Kerry....a$$.
Oh yes they are that dumb. Most Freepers know his intent, most rational people know his intent, but they live in an atlernate reality.
The problem for kerry is that they are fickle. He won't come through, and they'll dump him. The Grandstand will backfire on him.
Looks like the DUers are getting screwed. Schadenfreude.
I do like how Kerry's KOS-friendly stunt roasts MRS. BILL CLINTON like last year's red meat.
or maybe this is just a Fili-bluffer.
Didn't John Kerry serve in Vietnam?
Why don't we filibuster Kerry??
Kerry / Gore 2008
I don't think Gore would go for that. After all, he won the popular vote in 2000. Kerry only got 47% in 2004.
If those two run together (which would be the most wonderful gift to the USA that I or any conservative could imagine, it would be so much darn fun!), then I think it would have to be:
Gore / Kerry 2008
Kerry will apply for a Purple Heart for the inury to his good name, sustained in this vain attempt.
I agree. They are practically wetting themselves with joy that their hero, Kerry is going to lead a filibuster - without seeming to realize that 1) Kerry isn't even in the country right now, and so he can't lead a filibuster; and 2) there are already more than 60 confirmed votes for cloture. They are into a mutual-mental-masturbation frenzy, imagining scenarios where the other Dem senators will rise to support the virtuous Kerry, and defeat the evil Scalito!
Based on what I am reading, Kerry will accomplish his true gaol - not blocking Alito, that ws never possible. No, his true goal is to gain the support of the left-wing moonbats for his 2008 run. They are practically falling over themselves pledging their undying loyalty for this "bold demonstration of principle!(/Sarcasm)"
Davos - that's where former CNN head Eason Jordan made those remarks about US troops targeting journalists for assassination in Iraq. His scalp hangs proudly on the blogosphere mantle thanks to those remarks. How fitting that Kerry chose the place to once again prove what a flaming ass he is.
What's funny is that the DUmmies and Kos Kiddies are doubtless eating Lurch's drivel up and worshipping him as we speak. They just can't see what a cheap, shameless, pandering whore Kerry is. No insult to whores is intended.
"They are practically wetting themselves with joy that their hero, Kerry is going to lead a filibuster"
That is what is so great about it. The lefties get all worked up about something and believe victory is in their grasp only to end up big losers once again. Whether it's Plamegate, 2004 exit polls, 2000 election or NSA surveillence. It is always most satisfying watching them crash and burn just before they reach climax (so to speak).
Yep they're faxing and emailing and phoning everybody in the Senate, this is the vote of a lifetime, please Senator we can't let this extremist on the court, blah blah...like a cat chasing a ball of yarn from one end of the house to the other.
