Video nut slayed sister

A TEENAGER obsessed with a killer video game was yesterday found guilty of murdering his sister by torching his home in a twisted bid to slaughter his entire family. The 16-year-old — who modelled himself on a half-human/half-demon PlayStation 2 character — also hit his brother with an axe leaving him brain-damaged.

The lad always wore black Goth clothes and called himself Dante after the killer character in 15-rated game Devil May Cry, the Old Bailey heard.

He launched the arson attack to rid himself of his family in the hope he would be adopted by a rich couple.

The boy — who was 14 at the time — outlined his plan in a note found by police. It read: “Operation New Life. Kill family. Lose memory. Get adopted by rich couple. It all starts.”

He axed his 12-year-old brother before starting the blaze in Lewisham, South London.

His parents and 16-year-old sister escaped but his 11-year-old sister died of smoke inhalation.

At first the lad lied that a gunman told him to carry out the attack.

Sir Allan Green, prosecuting, said the boy wrote a reminder to cut himself to make it look like “a demon had done it”.

Yesterday a jury convicted him of his sister’s murder by a 10-2 majority. He was also found guilty of attempting to murder his brother and arson with intent to endanger life.

His family — who stuck by him — said he was “a bit of a loner”. He was remanded in custody for pre-sentence reports.

Last night pressure group Mediawatch accused the games industry of “living in denial” of the consequences of their products.

Sounds as if we have a family problem here.

Great another nut case for every body to put the blame on video games and heavy music. I can't believe his family says they will stick by him. Maybe crazy runs in the family!!!!

It could have been a book, a movie, a news story to set him off...The kid is nuts and deserves to be put out of his misery.

We have a guy at work that used to sing in a Goth band. When I asked them why they wore black all the time his respons was: "It's better than wearing suits and ties and killing babies like Republicans?"

Hey! The kid needs our sympathy -- he's just lost his sister, and his brother is brain damaged. Sheesh!

Insanity works in strange ways.
Kid dresses like a goth and calls himself Dante after a killer...

Every rich family I know wants to adopt a mess like that...

Great another nut case for every body to put the blame on video games and heavy music.

It's often hard to distinguish cause from effect.
This kid was probably 5 cans short of a six pack video games or no.

The next question would be "Why are you guys morons?" Find me an abortion doctor or a NOW cow that votes Republican.

Keep teaching them everything is relative, and that they are only highly evolved animals, then watch them work.

His family — who stuck by him — said he was “a bit of a loner”.

I suppose that is the justification for allowing the kid to spend all day every day playing with video death games? He was a bit of a loner so what the heck, that's the way the biscuit crumbles...
