Kerry should bow out gracefully
Indiana Statesman ^ | 1/27/06

Posted on 01/26/2006 10:12:44 PM PST by LdSentinal

There aren't many issues the entire Statesman staff agrees on. As we were putting this issue together, CNN gave us news of something that would unite all of us.

John Kerry is trying to block the nomination of Samuel Alito.

In our staff meeting, Democrats, Republicans and independents unite to speak with one voice.

John Kerry should sit down and shut up.

We at the Statesman feel he served his role, making a great run at the White House in 2004. He fell short, despite what all exit polling said, and we expected him to fade into the background.

Instead, he seems intent on positioning himself as the Democratic candidate for 2008. We feel that his efforts at a filibuster are just another way he is desperately trying to hold on to the spotlight.

If that's not enough evidence for you, check out the billboard on Third Street carrying a message from the Friends of John Kerry.

Andy Warhol famously said, "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for fifteen minutes."

Assuming that the future is now, we at the Statesman would like to publicly inform Kerry that his fifteen minutes are up.

He should gracefully step aside and allow the party to choose a new face, preferably one that hasn't already lost a major election.

If Kerry continues to try to stay in the forefront of the minds of the American people, he endangers the future of his party.

The Republicans have shown that they can effectively campaign against him, portraying him as a flip-flopper. It seems foolish to think that the result of another Kerry campaign will be any different.

If Kerry chooses to run again, watching him be defeated in the same manner would make him seem, at best, pathetic.

Unless, of course, his current actions already make him seem that way

"I was against the Alito nomination before I was for it." Is that what he's gonna inform voters in 2008? Get real!

His 15 minutes were up after his congressional testimony following his return from Vietnam.

...let the RATS continue to let these idiots, Kerry, Clinton, and Gore define their party and they will continue to lose more and more power. It is brilliant in the way the Republicans have handeled this whole thing. "Let the 'RATS hang themselves", day in and day out the 'RATS are doing just that.

Say what?

Nobody ever informed the Statesman that the exit polling was bogus, apparently due to a MoveOn.org attempt to fix it? That was a pretty big story, if I recall. Anyways, what a bizarre phrase to throw into this editorial - - "despite what all exit polling said". Hmmm. . . . Are they saying the result, ie., Bush winning, was fraudulent because the exit polling "said" that Kerry was the winner? Really, really bizarre. . . .

I would attempt to digest this absurdity if I really gave a rat's behind. But I don't. So I won't.

By the way, these chuckleheads at the Statesman are so concerned about the welfare of their party that they will apparently forego the opportunity to write about some great political drama. Clinton vs. Kerry is lining up to be a brutal bloodbath of a primary. You'd think these editors would be wringing their hands in anticipation rather than in angst.

Be careful, Richard Nixon lost his first run for pres also.
While Kerry is a pathetic bore and a gigalo and he will have to get the nomination over Mrs. Clinton, stranger things have happened.

I don't recall him ahead in any exit polls ...

Zogby had Kerry ahead in the hours leading up to the election. Of course we know Zogby is firmly in the 'Rat camp ... it was his way of helping Kerry win by discouraging 'Pubbie fence sitters.

Perhaps a new book would sear some life into our thrice-wounded North Vietnamese war hero's campaign.

LOL.

Gracefully, no. He'll flip-flop out.
Of all people to try to sink the nomination, Kerry is the Dems' worst choice. He'll seem the sore loser. We should send some carolers over to his house to holler, "You didn't win!" or "Better luck next time!"

Kerry can pretend he's doing important things in Davos, but this is what his platonic friend, Alexandra Polier (the "intern" )said about Davos (where she met Kerry almost exactly 5 years ago.)
I met John Kerry for the first time in January 2001, in Davos, Switzerland...

Although it presents itself as a serious policy machine, Davos’s real point is, of course, networking,

Won't you come home, John Kerry?

Kerry avoids Senate duties
(Afraid he'll catch Democrat cooties?)
He knows he's elected
But instead he's selected
To put on his Swiss-made ski booties.

KKK, the KerryKennedyKabal, knows that the rabid but deafdumbandblind base confuses beating a dead horse with positive action. It is a far better course to furiously beat a dead horse than to stand around with your finger up your butt

Did I miss something? Perhaps the exit polling had Kerry 'falling shorter'? I don't recall him ahead in any exit polls (that mattered.) Maybe the one at his household? The revisionist media is right here before our eyes, in plain sight, folks.

The extremely early (obviously fraudulent) exit polling had Kerry winning by something like 20 points. On Election Day 2004, these bogus exit polls were all over the news by 4:00 in the afternoon. It was a blatant attempt by the pollsters to push the election to Kerry by discouraging the Republican vote.

To a normal, rational human being, this is an example of the Democrat's attempt to steal an election by manipulating the polls.

Do a Donk, it is difinitive proof the Dumbya-McChimpy/Hitler stole the election by manipulating the touch-screen voting machines.

Kerry can't do anything gracefully. He's too foolish, clumsy, and egotistical.

John Kerry himself was the GOP's secret weapon......

THAT train has already left the station, and the fact that the dem party hasn't already put a muzzle on this poseur is a perfect testament to how out of touch with average Americans the left truly is.

Not only that, but the SwiftBoat Vets will be all over him for his "Christmas in Cambodia" hoax. He never recovered from their push in 04, but thinks 08 will be different? Poor judgement.

Kerry is trying to score points with the moonbat left base, as Hillary Clinton isn't sticking her neck out on the Alito issue.
