In closing I would just like to say, FREEPERS WIN.

One just hasn't had one's arse handed to one until one has had it handed to oneself by Beandog, IMHO. Especially her closing arguments! (Loved the one last week to the Pinkos: "In closing, Bite me.")

I don't let left wingers get by with much at all in my university...

There we have it folks. Those who can do, those who can't teach. Or in this case, I suspect, administrates.

Sometimes they tell the truth without realizing it.

Most people know why they are there and it's not to support the troops.

It should tell people all they need to know when they have to lie about their purpose. Lying is one of the left's favorite pastimes. If they told the truth most people wouldn't support them and they know it.

I have participated in many a Freep against Peace Fresno. After a year of standing toe to toe on Friday night. At one point I also wondered what good was coming to me standing on a corner holding a sign in the fog, rain and blazing heat every Friday night. After some introspection I had to come to the conclusion that if someone wasn't out there giving the opposing viewpoint that our society would come to believe that perhaps is war is wrong.

Wonderfully well said, NotPoliticallyCoWrecked, as is the rest of your post. Go, left coast FReepers!

In a public place, no one has an expectation of privacy. If they are protesting, thereby calling attention to themselves, they really have no expectation of privacy.

What the commie demonstrated to you by saying, "You can't take my picture" is that if they were in charge, they'd be dictators and the public would be at the mercey of their feelings and not ruled by laaws. The difference can be summed up in one word, "Freedom".

How are you doing?

Still winding up the health odyssey; loving the WR FReeps; volunteering in MD politics. Glad all is well with you!

You'd be surprised how many are in their 60s, reliving the 60s at these events. We mock them and bring attention to that by chanting, "Don't trust anyone under 60."

Conservatives should stand for ideas, values and principles...

We stand for our wounded troops and their families who arrive to see their wounded family member and had to pass a gauntlet of ghouls. Sometimes, through the windows of the very ambulances who bring the wounded to be healed, those morons were visible.

No.

We are there to say, "Welcome home, heroes; you are appreciated, honored and loved. We are grateful. Thank you from our hearts."

Love is the world's ultimate conservative idea, value and principle.

I didn't think you were expecting a reply to #174.

I teach rhetoric, in the vein of Richard M. Weaver, one of the fathers of the modern conservative movement in America. I teach them to be at home in the realm of ideas; how to engage in reasoned discourse, how to follow an argument to its logical conclusion, spot contradictions and faulty logic, how to avoid extremes, and how to be good citizens.

Here's a few links to what I teach:

Some reflections on and by Richard M. Weaver
Overview of Rhetoric
Rhetoric and Decorum on the Web
A reflection on Federalist #1
My Practical Reasoning Tutorial (much of which is based on Richard M. Weaver's Rhetoric and Handbook

Sounds like a very worthy mission. I couldn't agree with you more about love being the ultimate principle.

I set an example, I don't "teach" anything.

Being a true American requires no "teaching" at all.

A church decided to joined us from another little town. I don't mean a few memembers, I am talking the whole church, moms, dads, kids, grandma, grandpa, teens. We outnumbered Peace Fresno Peace by about 20 to 1. That evening was magical. The church brought their risers and their chorus sang God Bless America, and many other songs. They also set up a huge video screen with tapes of Bush speaking about the war on terror. It took 2 days for my ear to stop hearing honking. Peace Frenso was shaking in their boots, they were literally terrified. After they left we took over all four corners.

This is fantastic! How inspiring! Thank you, and I hope you will do more after-action reports, posted as threads. God bless you!

I just think someone has to keep our movement honest and true to its principles, and, as far as I'm concerned, conservatives ought to blah blah blah blah blah.... If you find yourself getting addicted to FReeping and start wetting yourself every time you get a 10-second sound bite on C-SPAN or a "shout out" on a blog . . . reexamine your motivation.

And that person who has to keep "our movement" "honest and true" would be your exalted self? My, but you're grand. Sweetie pie, you need to shuck the collectivism and remember the true meaning of freedom. We're not a movement. We are the center of the heart of America. We're keeping them off our troopers like you would keep a peeing dog off your rose bushes.

I'm not trying to place myself above anyone else or condescend in any way. I just see a tendency here that I honestly believe contradicts true conservatism and I think people should consider. That's all. This is a forum, right? We discuss ideas?
