"Ethnicity class" - I'm guessing that the intent of the class is to make all of the white kids feel guilty and experience what this freak of a teacher thinks non whites feel. Ka-ching! we have a winner. You are the first person here ar Liberal Republic to state that - most people too busy defending the "change agent" teacher.

I'm with you - the teacher is a moron. The kid seems to be a simp that may have found a way to get out of a bad grade for lack of preparation for the test. I would have had fun with it if one of my teahcers had reacted similarly.

We do take our football seriously. So do a lot of other Americans. Some on here defend the kid only because the Steelers might have beat their team during the reg. season or playoffs. It may seem trivial, but a pro sports team gives a city a lot of it's identity. The same people who chastise the teacher would not chastise the people who would object to a person bringing an Iranian flag to a pro-USA rally.
The kid was obviously looking to stir the pot a little. When he got the reaction he was looking for he couldn't handle it.

I always thought the "forward fumble" rule dated back to the Oakland Raiders and Kenny Stabler, fumbling the ball forward to defeat the Miami Dolphins in a playoff game.It was the Immaculate Deception aka the Holy Roller against the San Diego Chargers in a regular season game.

Good point and nicely stated!
BTW when up there (Pittsburgh)on a business trip I told my kid to leave his Dolphins jerseys in the suitcase.

most people too busy defending the "change agent" teacher. But the teacher doesn't want his actions defended in the context of the class. He wants to be vilified for mistreating the twit kid to show how certain ethnic groups feel mistreated. His lesson plan backfires here on FR.

Re:
The teacher, John Kelly, forced Joshua Vannoy to sit on the floor... for wearing a Denver Broncos jersey. I'm glad I wasn't in his class.
Nobody ever makes me get on the floor!

The NFL's 2006 season is going to be grand! Games on Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday nights plus the usual Sunday card. This could hammer the bar and restaurant business but I don't really care. I've got my La-Z-Boy and my Sony LCD all set for some serious "cooping." Gosh, when is it going to be September? (No sarcasm here, seriously.)

I have a cousin who was an offensive lineman for the Dallas Cowboys for 7 years. I live in Pittsburgh. No one in my family, myself included, has ever worn a Dallas Cowboys jersey.

Stupid. This is an ethics class and was meant to teach him how other people would feel if mocked. It was done in jest and he's an idiotic if he thinks it was serious.

"Wearing number 7 was self-humiliation."
This has to be one of the most ignorant statements I've ever seen on FR.
And I'm a Browns fan ... and I lived in Denver from 84-00 ... and I endured the torture of watching the Broncos beat up the Browns in 3 AFC Championship games ... but it felt better knowing the Browns were beaten by one of the greatest QB's who ever played the game. Even I was thrilled watching "The Drive."
When the Browns became the Ravens I rooted for the Broncos and watched Elway win them two Super Bowls. I would say Elway was the 2nd greatest QB of all time, next to Joe Montana.
