I've wondered from time to time why senator after senator, over all these years, has not ever called him out.He gets more and more brazen, the more he gets away with it. Do they have to sign an oath in blood or something, when they're sworn in as senators, that they'll never mention drunKennedy's murderous drunken history?

Here is a link to an excellent book on Chappequiddick. Senatorial Privilege: The Chappaquiddick Cover-Up - by Leo Damore

Leo Damore knew Cape Cod very well. It's politics, etc. A talented and fair journalist, from the days when such a thing could be said.

Actually, Oren Hatch got in a great shot at The Swimmer during the Clarence Thomas debate: The Swimmer made some comments similar to his rant about "Robert Bork's America" at which point an outraged Hatch took the floor and sputtered, "If the Senator from Massachusetts believes THAT ... well, then I have a BRIDGE I'd like to sell him." The next sound heard was dropping jaws hitting the desks. I was watching PBS' coverage and the looks on the faces of Nina Tottenberg and Daniel Schoor was priceless. (Moments later Hatch, having swerved into the truth, realized what he said and apologized to his friend Ted.)
