The manager had the fella turn it down and move from the fire zone. It's not always that danged "thump", many times it's the discusting message of the 'music'.
There ought to be a simple solution for problems of this kind: put a wattage limit on the audio amp of sound systems installed in cars.
You are right. It's disgusting. We have fines and jail-terms for a reason. Seizing property just gives the police a reason to look for something to seize. It's about as American as the KGB arresting people for being in the wrong category of society.
I'm finally getting over my dislike for Harley riders because the owner of one in my neighborhood moved out. What is it about Harley owners that makes them think a red octagonal sign with STOP written on it means "sit there and rev the engine for a while"?
What ever happened to tickets and fines? This new wave of seizures of property for what are truly minor offenses is as far from conservatism as you can get.
I'm disappointed to see so many Freepers going along with such a thing. Maybe the next administration will take offense at your conservative bumper stickers or vehicles larger than a cracker box and seize your car, too.
I hate booming cars, but I wouldn't do an injury to the driver of such a car, nor would I seize their car. Ridiculous. Just give them a ticket and have them pay a fine.
However I would love to get a directed EMP device for my car, so if "Thumpy" is next to me in traffic sharing his music with everyone I can kill every bit of electronics in his car.LOL!

Harley riders make noise for another reason....Loud Pipes Saves Lives.
I think seizing a vehicle for loud music is pushing it quite a bit. Yet, there are safety problems with that loud crap... you can't hear emergency vehicles. I know for a FACT that if one of these jerks are next to you and your windows are down, you can't hear an ambulance coming up behind..has happened to me.

I agree for some this is their motivation but for the majority it's just the idea that they can make noise.
