I think it's cruel to starve someone to death.
If someone expresses a wish to die in these circumstances,
why isn't it kinder to administer something to kill them quickly.
Is that murder?
It achieves the same result.

We still take a position that we cannot actively administer a shot to kill someone who is dying, even though we would for an animal.

FWIW, I think it's a good thing that we don't.
