It can't be authenticated but some people who knew Stalin well (and in that period of the 30's) believe that his second wife's suicide was "assisted" after they had a vicious argument at a Kremlin dinner party and she ran away from the table and was found dead the next day. Also, another prominent contemporary was good to his dog - AND he didn't even smoke or drink - and was a vegetarian. Yes, it was Hitler.

I have found that most vegetarians have a huge disdain for humans (as Hitler did obviously) and is quite obvious with PETA.
