We can only hope and pray that the 63 year old Jagger won't do any bump and grind before the audience of 16 year old adolescents.

The only thing grinding on Jagger are his hip and knee joints.

Some analysts suggest the release of communiqués by both al-Zawahiri and bin Laden might be the precursor to a mega-attack – something even rivaling Sept. 11 in scope and devastation.

All the taxi drivers of the major cities are going to crash at the same time?

Actually, all of the taxi drivers in Windsor, Ontair, Detroit's neighbor across the river, are Middle Eastern and frankly very radical. Windsor's Muslim population is over 30%. The truth is that terrorists would not have to go through security at the Super Bowl. All they would have to do is take a row boat across the Detroit river, or launch a missile from the river or Canadian side. What a stupid place to have a Super Bowl, completely unguarded borders and so easy to enter. The border between Detroit and Windsor is the same as Syria and Iraq.

I understand that the NFL would have some authority over the security companies hired, but wouldn't City of Detroit PD; the Michigan State Police, FBI, and the like be the ones responsible for actually securing Ford Field (and the area). Please don't tell me that rent-a-cops are doing the sweeps. That would be too scary.

nonononono. I mean someone lurking, perhaps, a mile away from the stadium. Shooting with a trajectory that comes in over the top. You know how hard it was for the Maryland/Virginia snipers to be found (Moose or no Moose).

Hardly a good terrorist tactic. Assuming a few ballistic rounds could be fired into the stadium, and the rounds actually hit someone, there wouldn't be any loud sound (bang) to start the intended panic.

I was wondering if anyone was at all concerned that the Super Bowl is being conducted in the muslim capital of the U.S.A.

I was, until I read this thread. Now I'm absolutely convinced that the war is over and the threat of terrorism has been completely obliterated. Apparently, the Islamofacists not only don't want to kill us anymore... but they think we're all a bunch of righteous dudes.

This is, of course, fantastic news.

Of course much of the chatter will have dried up because the NY Times tipped off the networks to the NSA's game.

In case you didn't see it earlier, her's a thread that discusses your points in further detail.

However, since then there have been several encouraging developments:

NORAD securing airspace on BOTH sides of the border.

The largest security force for a one-day event in US history (of course that begs the question, "Why's that?")

Condi attending the game (you'd think that indicates the White House feels pretty good about it)

I tend to agree with the line of thinking that IF something happens, it will not be at the stadium, but perhaps in the vacinity or in another (or several other cities) during the game.

But then again...Breaking News about Red Cross

"Of course Farah is actually hoping for a terrorist attack.

At the same time he is also still waiting for a Iranian EMP strike and the 30+ Al-Qaeda nukes ready to go off all @ once in the U.S."

Standing O for you my friend...BRAVO.

Joseph F. is lacking any street cred.
He is rapidly morphing into Monsour Ijazz--the king of terror overhype.

Thanks for the information. Detroit/Windsor via the Detroit River is a huge issue as far as I am concerned. We boat the Great Lakes, and I know, first hand, how easy it is to go to Canada and return to the US. So they can patrol both sides all they want, if one wants in, it is a no brainer.

It's just something you drive across, right? I remember from when I was in high school and living in Ann Arbor.

""no credible threats against the Super Bowl."'

That is because the promoters have copyrighted the term 'Super Bowl. One may use that term only with permission. Every commercial reference to the SB has been changed to 'The Big Game'.

Another fear-mongering WND story passes without an event. One of these days WND may actually be on to something, but by that time no one will listen.
