CLEVELAND, Jan. 30 -- "Ken Blackwell, a Life Member of the NRA, has been a strong, consistent supporter of the rights of gun owners," said Jeff Garvas, president of Ohioans For Concealed Carry (OFCC). "As Governor, we believe he will be instrumental in furthering concealed carry reform in Ohio."
OFCC Vice-President and OFCC-PAC Chairman Bryan Torok added, "It is past time to end Governor Taft's roadblocks to freedom that have for too long thwarted the will of the Ohio Legislature and the grassroots supporters who worked on this issue."
All of the Republican candidates remaining in the race to date have answered the OFCC Gubernatorial survey in a positive manner, placing OFCC in the unenviable position of having to choose amongst friends. However, member sentiment in OFCC's forums, as well as the results of several informal polls conducted on the OFCC Web site, indicate that Blackwell's viewpoint is the one that most resonates with OFCC's membership.
"We acknowledge that all of the Republican candidates remaining in the race are strong proponents and are worthy of being called 'Governor,'" said Dan White, an OFCC director. "However, at this time Mr. Blackwell is the clear choice of our members and gives us the best opportunity for improving the rights of gun owners in Ohio."
Blackwell for Governor Ping!
Go, Blackwell! Take down Petro!
So much for a bunch of "white racist" gun owners.
He already had my vote, can I vote twice?
(I know, only if I'm a dumbocrat!) :)
Petro's campaign is already in trouble. Phil Heimlich just abandoned him last week, and now Betty Montgomery dropped out.
I think the Ohio Republican party has asked Petro to drop, so there isn't a nasty primary that ends up costing a lot of money.
My vote is going to Blackwell!
Every little bit helps. I'm optomistic about this race, though it's still not in the bag.
Will this deter the democrats from tactics, such as throwing Oreo's?
Ken Blackwell is a fine man of character.
Did you know he used to be a democrat?
I disagree, I think it is starting to cook
The oven is still pre-heating :)
I will have to give you this one because I think you are right. ;o)
LOL
