A drug-resistant strain of tuberculosis from Mexico is worrying U.S. health officials.
Many Mexicans are using potent, readily available drugs such as telithromycin to treat TB, but they are not meant for the disease. That fact, along with short-term and inconsistent medicine use creates a drug-resistant variety of the life-threatening illness that could spread, the Brownsville Herald reported.

"In my opinion, the growth of this (drug resistance) could be considered an epidemic situation," said Eduardo Olivarez, chief administrative officer for the Hidalgo County, Texas, Health Department.
sorry about the double post. Bad copy past job.
TB has killed millions. It is, IMHO, a far greater threat than Bird flu.
Our prisons will be a nice incubator.
They are just walking, talking biological weapons. I thought President Bush had taken an oath to protect us from weapons of mass destruction. But he does everything possible to keep them flowing.
It has been showing up in the prisons. Right along with MRSA, a variation on flesh-eating bacteria.
Nasty stuff!!
I don't know about you, but I for one, am willing to die for jobs for Mexico and cheap labor for our businesses in the good ole US of A. (sarcasm)
I DO wish I could draw a cartoon with Bush standing with his back to the border while his fingers plugged his ears and he went "La,la-la,la,la".
Meanwhile, behind him was pictured a horde of illegals coughing, hacking and stumbling across the line in the dirt known as 'the border'.
(Maybe even have a few in Mexican Army uniforms for good measure!)
Oh, WHY was I born good-looking instead of artistic? :)
