I think that Amanpour did some reports a few years back on the Kurdish children killed and crippled by Saddam's poison gas attacks. She seems to have a short memory.

Back in the early 80's when Bashir Gemayel was rogering Christiane she was a blunt and forthright enemy of pro-Soviet middle eastern thug regimes such as Assad's Syria (foremost). However, she was no friend of Saddam's regime and her dispatches depicted it as simply the lesser evil to to the Mullahocracy of Iran. She filed her stories from either Beirut or Amman and even with the Gemayel's providing her protection she courted danger by the enemies she made. Today Christiane has descended to be just another MSM shill busy kissing Moslem a-s and sliming the US.

"she lamented how "journalists have paid for it, paid for the privilege of witnessing and reporting that."

Now she laments. They scream for access, brag about how brave they are for covering the war, then squeal like pigs when someone gets hurt. Meanwhile, they provide slanted coverage to boot.

I wish Ms. A would get more "privileges" to witness and report on the war. To add to the realism, I think she should grow a mustache and report the story as an Iraqi recruit at one of those often-bombed police recruiting places. Not sure if the mustache will be necessary to complete the disguise.

“I would say that most of the journalists who are there [in Baghdad] have got a lot more experience in risky situations in war than some of the spokespeople who are giving out those comments.”

Is anyone forcing those journalists at gunpoint to be out there? They want to be there to get 'face time' so they can come home and be closer in line for one of those coveted 'news reader' jobs.

I'd like to see some comparison of how many journalists were killed and injured in Europe in WWII compared to Iraq for the last three years..

Christiane Amanpour is a disaster!

Doncha just love Larry King of CNN interviewing Amanpour of CNN for his show on CNN? And they think the President lives in a bubble!
