There are 1375 Parties nationwide, and WE are the biggest and the best! Tonight, President Bush, in his STATE of the UNION speech, will discuss America's leadership in the world and share his vision to lead America forward. To seize opportunities here at home, the President will outline the policies needed for the American people to continue to compete in the global economy.
Earlier today, the President sat with Supreme Court nominee, Samuel Alito in the Roosevelt Room at the White House, and watched the Senate confirmation vote as they approved his nomination 58-42, fulfilling one of President Bush's most significant campaign pledges by placing on the Supreme Court another justice who will interpret the Constitution as the Founders intended, and not legislate from the bench. THANK you, President Bush! (Justice Alito was sworn in at 12:07 this afternoon as the 110th Supreme Court Justice)
President Bush also released a statement regarding the death of widow of Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King, Jr, Coretta Scott King and met with TV reporters in the White House to give them a glimpse of his State of the Union, emphasizing his optimism for the future of America. He also continued to work on this speech for tonight.
The economy is strong, we are winning our War on Terror and it is a GOOD DAY in America, and a GREAT time to be a Bush-bot!
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose............ let's PARTY!!!!!!!!!
(DON'T tell me you're too young to remember her too! LOL!)
Watch Dick Van Dyke in syndication, and look for the one where he acts drunk every time he hears a bell. Hilarious!
Judge Alito gets confirmed as SCOTUS; Fed Chairman Bernanke gets confirmed and now the State of the Union - It's the TRIPLE CROWN of Politics!
That's EST, right? Eight Central?
I don't want to see her face. EVER AGAIN!
Dolly...yes, the Dose is up! Ping-a-ling!
If somebody's lurking who has it, I'd LOVE to see it posted here!
*woooosh* Right over my head :)
I don't either. And you KNOW if she's there, the media's gonna show her. Grrrr....
Checking in for the big noght! Thanks Ohio!
Ugh. Why do all liberal women look the same? Lynn Woolsey, Pat Schroeder, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer ... It's an endless parade of bad hair-dos and pantsuits.
As we all know, the MSM will use their pre-SOTU coverage to verbally assault the President. Their weapon of choice: BOGUS polling data.
The following information will help us combat their impending lies and distortions:
HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE:
Presidential JA Ratings Before the SOTU:
Reagan. . . . .Clinton. . . . . Bush
'88 49% . . . .'00 64%. . . . . '08 ?
'87 48% . . . .'99 69%. . . . . '07 ?
'86 64% . . . .'98 59%. . . . . '06 43%
'85 64% . . . .'97 60%. . . . . '05 51%
'84 52% . . . .'96 46%. . . . . '04 53%
'83 37% . . . .'95 47%. . . . . '03 60%
'82 47% . . . .'94 54%. . . . . '02 84%
http://poll.gallup.com/content/?ci=21205
Average JA Ratings:
51.7% Reagan
57.0% Clinton
58.2% Bush
Range:
37%-64% Reagan
46%-69% Clinton
43%-84% Bush
JA in 40s or less (before SOTU):
4 Reagan
2 Clinton
1 Bush
JA in 50s
1 Reagan
2 Clinton
2 Bush
JA in 60s or above
2 Reagan
3 Clinton
2 Bush
As you can discern from this comparative data, President Reagan's JA ratings fare poorly when compared to Clinton and GWB. In fact, Clinton's ratings exceed both Reagan and Bush during his second term (to date). AND WHAT SHOULD THIS TELL US?
JA ratings do not a legacy make!! [Did any of you actually remember that President Reagan sported such low ratings before 4 of his 7 SOTU speeches (and for that matter, the entire year following the speeches)?! Of course not.
LEADERS make tough decisions which can temporarily lower their JA ratings; LOSERS avoid difficult actions to keep their JA ratings as high as possible. The former are remembered well by history; the latter become mere footnotes!
Fortunately for us, PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH is a leader; history will remember him well!!
DJ DRUMMOND provides an excellent analysis of recent MSM polling data at

Time for me to race out the door for my son's basketball game . . . Hubby's already at the game . . . I'll return as soon as possible!
Try not to get too crazy!
BTW: Did you hear that Josh Sparling is attending the SOTU at the President's invitation -- I hope he's able to tell Sheehan exactly what he thinks of her grotesque behavior!!
What a GREAT day to be a Republican!!
Thanks for the perspective!
Please make sure Howlin knows that this thread is not competing with hers . . . (Bush-supporting) Freepers should feel free to 'click' back and forth between the threads!
OK, now I'm really leaving for my son's game!
Ah...my happy dance soul mate!
