I notice that oddly "shns.com", McClatchy's syndicated news service, is not listed on the restricted list even though many articles from McClatchy's staff writers are first avaliable on Scripts Howard and then later, with slightly altered titles, are published on sites from our restricted list (sacbee.com, modbee.com and fresnobee.com.)
What's the rule? Thanks.

That's probably a good hint to those who don't appreciate the sarcasm game...but I was raised to it, so I forget....

It depends who you select to 'reply' to.
To: Dacula; Admin Moderator
Why is it when I post a comment the thread seams to automatically stop? Because you are a thread killer, and can't spell seems.
;-)
Just joking...there was a vanity thread on this subject a few years back. Everyone has been the last poster on a thread.

I'd add the following advice:
Concision is crucial in this bandwidth-limited medium. Hence, do not post separate threads when one master rant on, say, gay darwinist pedophilic neoconfederate Mac users who hate Elian, Terri Shiavo, and M1911A pistols come together to praise Bill Gates, Tom Cruise, Mark Morford, and Hillary Clinton. Did I cover everything?
Oh, and do post ID threads, lots of 'em. One thing this site needs is more ID Threads...

I keep the
FReep Lexicon bookmarked as a reference to use when I run into acronyms. If I remember correctly, it was recently helpful for "IIRC".
If you're really stuck and can't find what you're looking for in the Lexicon, a friendly "private reply" to a poster who used a particular acronym will usually get you a helpful reply while not clogging up a thread.

***Why is it when many people reply with a general comment, their replys go to the article poster (the one who started the thread) rather than the last person to make a post? ***
Because your comment to the last poster may not have anything to do with what he/she said, and may cause hard feelings, confusion and a case of hives. (It also fills up the last poster's personal page with things that have nothing to do with him/her) THAT's why.
