KERRY CLAIMS: 53% OF CHILDREN DO NOT GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL Wed Feb 01 2006 10:43:40 ET
Sen. John Kerry claimed this morning on NBC TODAY that 53% of America's children do not graduate from high school -- a claim that raised eyebrows in the NBC control room, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
Kerry made the comments after host Katie Couric asked the former presidential candidate about Bush's State of the Union call to train 70,000 additional teachers in math and science.
COURIC: He wanted to train 70,000 additional teachers in math and science.
KERRY: That's terrific. But 53 percent of our children don't graduate from high school. Kids don't have after-school programs... He didn't ask America to sacrifice anything to achieve great goals and the biggest example is making the tax cut permanent for the wealthiest people in America. The average American struggles to find time to take carry of families, working two or three jobs... It's a disgrace. He did not tell the real state of the union.
Kerry's 53% claim conflicts with a recent press release from the U.S. Census Bureau: "High School Graduation Rates Reach All-Time High"
And the Census Bureau's own website states: 85.9 Percent Of Americans Aged 20-24 Are High School Graduates. (U.S. Census Bureau Website, www.census.gov , Accessed 2/1/06)

How can HE be expected to know how the peasants live?
He is so out of touch with reality -- it is scarey.
What world does he live in? Looney lala land?
Uh huh... Kerry opened his mouth again, I see.
It's another number pulled from his backdoor sources.
The Demo that keeps lying and lying and lying and lying , etc, etc, etc!
It's hard to leave if you've never been there in the first place.
(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")
In order for Kerry to leave reality again, he would have to have been IN reality for a while. History records no such sojourn.
Only two jobs? What lazy kind o' mon only have two jobs?
I thought we were all doing well enough that we could jump on a plane and fly out to the Pacific Northwest for a little wind-surfing R&R. Now we're working 3 jobs just to meet the rent. Must be Bush's fault.
Did you know he was in Viet Nam ?? Really, did you know that?
"Mister Flopibuster"
LOL. Monsieur Fullobluster?
Kerry has already overspent his quota of hours in DC this week - time for another vacation for poodle boy.
Technically that may be true. Many graduates are already 18 years old when they graduate. This guy is a doofus. I'd say at least 50% of the children in my class didn't graduate. But a few months into adulthood they did.
You know, before there were blogs nobody would have caught this.
Long live the pajama minons.
He's just like Algore..he just makes things up as he goes! And then he'll lie and say he didn't say it!
Kids that have dropped out that I have talked to say they weren't learning anything, the teachers were catering to the lower achievers so the better students were bored and adrift in the classroom. They were basically treated as if they did not exist.
Three of these young men have coped a GED hand have been serving with distinction in our armed services.
I hear he eats Snickers bars with a knife & fork.
No I didn't..does he ever mention it?
