To: Alberta's Child
The same that I think is wrong with supporting any other unstable nation in an unstable part of the world -- it simply isn't in this country's best interests to do it.

With all due respect AC, I disagree with you.

If we removed our support from Israel because it is an "unstable nation" all we would really be doing is giving a wink and a nod to Israels hostile neighbors to swarm in and murder or enslave every single Jewish person in that country.

Israel could overwhelmingly defeat any of its neighbors in a military conflict. The notion that a country like Syria, Jordan, Egypt, etc. could "swarm in and murder or enslave every single Jewish person in that country" is downright silly.

Israel doesn't rely on U.S. financial aid and military assistance for its survival as a nation. It relies on these things because it can't maintain itself as a modern European-style socialist state without them.

With all due respect, U.S. taxpayers have no obligation to maintain any other nation's utopian economic delusions.
