Iran Said to Have Nuclear Warhead Plans

VIENNA, Austria - The U.N. nuclear watchdog agency said in a report Tuesday that Iran obtained documents and drawings on the black market that serve no other purpose than to make an atomic warhead. Tehran warned of an "end of diplomacy" if plans to refer it to the U.N. Security Council are carried out.

The report by the agency, ahead of a meeting of its 35-member board Thursday, also confirmed information recently provided by diplomats familiar with the Iran probe that Tehran has not started small-scale uranium enrichment since announcing it would earlier this month.

Nevertheless, the findings added to pressure to refer Tehran to the Security Council within days. Such a move, Iran said, would lead to a halt in surprise U.N. inspections beginning Saturday and prompt it to resume frozen nuclear activities.

"If it happens, the government will be required under the law to end the suspension of all nuclear activities it has voluntarily halted," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said late Tuesday, speaking on Iranian television.

Speaking to a crowd of thousands in southern Iran on Wednesday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also vowed to resist Western pressures to constrain his country's nuclear program. "Nuclear energy is our right, and we will resist until this right is fully realized," he said.

His speech came hours after President Bush increased the pressure on Iran, saying in his State of the Union address Tuesday night that Iran "is defying the world with its nuclear ambitions, and the nations of the world must not permit the Iranian regime to gain nuclear weapons."

Is it just me, or does it seem Iran is itching for a nuclear war?

This primitive clown evidently has never heard of Sun Tzu or Clausewitz...

Hey a**HOLE! Tactical Nukes, Bunker-busters and air-fuel bombs are "diplomacy by other means".

Not familiar with the concept (yet)?
So, no, there is never an end to "diplomacy"!

I believe there's been at least one assassination attempt from within Iran against this lunatic.

Unfortunately, it failed.

Iran's bomb factories will be dismantled, soon, either by UN workers or US air/special forces,,,and looks like March is the month, after which Israel said it will act....

Here's one big question: does Iran have enough enriched U-235 (the easily fissionable form of uranium) to build the "gun-barrel" style nuclear bomb with a yield of approximate 13 kT? Even a 13 kT atomic bomb detonated just over 1,000 feet off the ground above Tel Aviv could literally wipe out the entire downtown of that city.

"I assume we're not going to sit back and let this happen..."

Our allied military forces always have plans and are likely working on the Iran problem together, IMO. Iran is a threat to countries other than Israel, and Iran is not the whole extent of the threat.

The plans are on the table simply awaiting orders to go into action. The air raids inflicted on Saddam's régime will look like a warm up in relation to what lies ahead for Iran and Syria.
