It's tasteless, but I don't think it's supposed to be about the wounded soldiers. It's just a juvenile slap at Rumsfield. Who gets all upset over cartoons? Besides fanatics in the Middle East, that it.
The Muzzies OTOH, like the liberals, only recognize their own rights, or what they think are their rights, but not those of those with whom they disagree.
Just fascists doing what fascists do.
It's worse than that, they expect everyone else to play by their rules. The main thing about the cartoons that offends them is that they portray and actual image of Mohamed. Now their religious law says that no such image should be portrayed, because it could lead to idolatry. Early in the Protestant reformation, most Protestent denominations felt likewise. In fact one anti Roman Catholic curse was "Idolater!".
The Islamists, even the so called moderate ones, tip their hand when they expect non Muslims to go by their rules, which were intended only for those who have "submitted" to their version of Allah. (Islam means the peace of submission).
As disgusting as this cartoon is, you should see what was printed during the Civil War.
This is a letter sent to the Compost from my passwordless Freeper office bud:
Whether or not you agree with our country's ongoing liberation of the oppressed in Afghanistan and Iraq, Tole's cartoon printed on January 29th hits a new low, even for the Post. I find it supremely ironic that Tole enjoys the freedom to create such insulting works at the very expense of those who are sacrificing their life and limbs to preserve our American way of life by fighting terrorism in their backyards instead of ours.
A public apology for the creation and publishing of this offensive cartoon is in order. We're waiting.
A fine letter!
Shame, shame...too stupid for shame.
Nothing new really.
The newspapers in my area have been printing this sort of garbage for as long as I can recall.
