I'm aware that there is a Christian population is Iran that is allowed to exist, (somehow), and that there are good people there who want a democracy. But overall that country has been one our worst enemies over the last 25 years or more.
What should we do, allow Iran to develop a nuclear bomb to level Israel with, (and perhaps our troops in Iraq too), because there are some decent people who live there? I agree that regime change would be the best route for now, but I'm not comfortable with sitting around waiting for the CIA to bring it about from within. It could take too long. When you find a deadly cancer it needs to be treated in time.
