Tony Blair Winston Churchill told President George Bush Franklin Roosevelt that he was "solidly" behind US plans to invade Iraq Germany before he sought advice about the invasion's legality.

"If Saddam fired on them, he would be in breach [of UN resolutions]".

I thought he was already in breach of 17 resolutions.

Why do reasonable people continue to read the Guardian? Hasn't it shown itself, over and over again, to be what it is?

Mr Bush told the Mr Blair that the US was so worried about the failure to find hard evidence against Saddam that it thought of "flying U2 reconnaissance aircraft planes with fighter cover over Iraq, painted in UN colours".

This is such a juvenile load of nonsense.

Bush was going to disguise our U2 planes to look those U2 aircraft the UN flies. This was to fool the Iraqis on the ground 70,000 feet below.

"flying U2 reconnaissance aircraft planes with fighter cover over Iraq, painted in UN colours". Mr Bush added: "If Saddam fired on them, he would be in breach [of UN resolutions]".

Think Saddam would have been stupid enough to think the UN had somehow gotten an Air Force to go along with their UNArmy and UNNavy?

Whoever wrote this crap is obviously stupid enough.

U2 with fighter escorts? Probably with White Rabbit pilots.

"The memo seen by Prof Sands reveals:"

Absolutely nothing, because prior to this week it only existed in Professor Sands' head.

(PM backed invasion despite illegality)

That's as far as I got. I have no time for uneducated, liberal asshats that have NO idea of what they speak.

“The disclosures come in a new edition of Lawless World, by Phillipe Sands”

A newly released book with “startling” revelations – who would have thunk it?
