BBC screens Prophet cartoons (It just doesn't get any better -- Mideast laughing stock of world)

London - The BBC broadcast irreverent cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed on Thursday to help audiences understand "the strong feelings" sparked by a report of a Muslim backlash provoked by their original publication in Denmark.

A BBC spokesperson said the cartoons were broadcast on the 13:00 news bulletin on BBC One, its main domestic channel.

First published in Denmark in September and later picked up by a dozen publications across Europe, the caricatures have provoked a firestorm of indignation in the Muslim world.

A few extremist Islamic groups, such at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, have threatened retaliation against citizens from the countries in which the cartoons appeared.

Many newspapers have reprinted the cartoons - including one depicting Mohammed with a turban-shaped bomb on his head - in a show of support for the Danish paper, Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten.

A BBC spokesperson said the cartoons were being used "responsibly and in full context to give audiences an understanding of the strong feelings evoked by the story".

Has anyone ever heard such a ruckus over protecting the feelings of Christians? All of this contoversy just goes to show the ridiculous double standard. American lefties blather about how 'scary' the Christian right is, but never breath a word in that regard about the Islamic butchers, 9/11 and televised beheadings notwithstanding.

I think someone on here ought to be able to come up with some good cartoons about the prophet and we can send them around the world from here. The internet should be flooded with these things and let them freaks take on the whole world at once.

Ahab, The Arab
Let me tell you 'bout Ahab The Arab
The Sheik of the burning sand
He had emeralds and rubies just dripping off 'a him
And a ring on every finger of his hands

He wore a big ol' turban wrapped around his head
And a scimitar by his side
And every evening about midnight
He'd jump on his camel named Clyde...and ride

Spoken

Silently through the night to the sultan's tent where he would secretly meet up with Fatima of the Seven Veils, swingingest grade "A" number one U.S. choice dancer in the Sultan's whole harem, 'cause, heh, him and her had a thing going. You know, and they'd been carrying on for some time now behind the Sultan's back and you could hear him talk to his camel as he rode out across the dunes, his voice would cut through the still night desert air and he'd say (imitate Arabian speech) which is arabic for, "stop, Clyde!" and Clyde would say, (imitate camel voice). Which is camel for, "What the heck did he say anyway?"
Well....

He brought that camel to a screeching halt
At the rear of Fatima's tent jumped off Clyde,
Snuck around the corner and into the tent he went
There he saw Fatima laying on a Zebra skin rug
Wearing rings on her fingers and bells on her toes
And a bone in her nose ho, ho.
Spoken

There she was friends lying there in all her radiant beauty. Eating on a raisin, grape, apricot, pomegranate, bowl of chitterlings, two bananas, three Hershey bars, sipping on a "R C" Co-Cola listening to her transistor, watching the Grand Ole Opry on the tube reading the Mad magazine while she sung, "Does your chewing gum lose it's flavor?" and Ahab walked up to her and he said, (imitate Arabian speech) which is arabic for, "Let's twist again like we did last summer, baby." (laughter) You know what I mean! Whew! She looked up at him from off the rug, give him one of the sly looks, she said, (coy, girlish laugh) "Crazy baby".
'Round and around and around and around...etc.

And that's the story 'bout Ahab the Arab
The Sheik of the Burnin' sand
Ahab the Arab
The swinging Sheik of the burnin' sand

It is part of the Muslim intimidation of the West. We may laugh at their reaction, but it does have a chilling effect for any future such cartoons. Salman Rushdie was another example of how critics of Islam are dealt with. In America, no one dares to make a joke about Islam. There are consequences for those who do.

Muslim leadership realizes that the "I'm offended" works well for them to get what they want.

They use the Islam card and being offended as much as Jesse Jackson uses the race card and being offended. Both use a similar pattern.

In a related story, Le Monde ran a "Mohammed" cartoon on its front page today.

I'm beginning seriously to think that this little tempest in a teapot marks a significant turning point in the way Europeans perceive and behave toward Muslims.

The French riots were rationalized by the usual suspects as being the result of "ill treatment" or some such rot. (Isn't it amazing how horrible behavior can be rationalized?).

It's not possible -- it'd be ridiculous -- to try to fob off the reaction to cartoons as being due to anything other than insanity. I think finally the salamikaze knee-jerk has met its match.

It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out. I predict that things will get ugly before they get better.

How come the Muslims aren't bitching about that South Park episode "The Super Best Friends"?
Mohammed was in that...

While President Bush and Republicans of America are working to turn the Middle East back towards civilization, leave it to the LibIdiots in Europe to get all entangled in petty BS.

This is indeed funny!

a fresh one......

Osama - Yo' Mama
(You In A Heap O' Trouble Boy)
Osama - yo' mama didn't raise you right
When you were young she must have wrapped yo' turban too tight
She should have kept you home on those arabian nights
It's plain to see - you need some therapy

Osama - yo' mama could have done a lot better
Though I bet every day you did somethin' to upset her
By the way, we got an answer to your anthrax letter
New York City's where it's from - it's called a smart bomb

Chorus

And I can hear yo' mama sayin' now, "You in a heap o' trouble son
Now just look what you've done
Saw you on TV with yo' gun
Mercy sakes, I can't do a thing wit'cha, told ya dubyah's gonna git'cha"

And I can just hear dubyah sayin', "You in a heap 'o trouble boy
And I don't think you will enjoy
Our game of search and destroy
We got your terror right here, and we gon' run it up yo' rear"

Osama - yo' mama didn't teach you how to act
You've crossed the line too far this time, there ain't no turnin' back
You're startin' to remind us of another maniac
Yeah, you know who - he started World War II

Osama - yo' mama didn't teach you to behave
Now they say you're hangin' with the bats in a cave
Well, pullin' off that sneak attack was not too brave
Kinda makes us remember - the 7th of December

Chorus

And I can hear yo' mama sayin' now, "You in a heap o' trouble son
Now just look what you've done
Saw you on TV with yo' gun
Mercy sakes, I can't do a thing wit'cha, told ya dubyah's gonna git'cha"

And I can just hear dubyah sayin', "You in a heap 'o trouble boy
And I don't think you will enjoy
Our game of search and destroy
We got your terror right here, and we gon' run it up yo' rear"

Tag Lines

Osama yo' karma's really got you in a jam
But that's just what you get - when you mess with Uncle Sam

Osama the Taliban is history
Nobody wants to see you startin' World War Three

Osama you know the al-Qaida won't last
Osama, just like you, it's future's in the past

Osama you should've read your Nostradamus
Now all your friends are sayin' "Please don't bomb us"

Followers of islam should not be even looking at cartoons in the first place. Such things are "Lahw and La’ib" under islam (useless forms of amusement).

Television, video games, cartoons and even stuffed animals are not allowed. Neither is having a dog in the house or "animate" pictures because "angels will not enter" (Sahih Muslim Hadith no.3928). You can't wear gold, you have to wipe you ass a certain way, etc, etc.

Oh, and don't ever masturbate! islam does not allow that under Sharia law (hear that Bill Clinton?) or just about anything else for that mattter. Well, anything fun or anything that would make most people happy. Some people say it;s a cult but it's more like a form of government than anything else. A REAL repressive form of government and on that's totally opposite to freedom and what America is all about. islam seems to me to be the kind of thing that the establishment clause is about. But instead of Congress it's Islam that needs to be kept from establishing a national religion and at the same time killing any competeing religion which would prohibit "free exercise" of religion.

I think George Bush is right, democracy in the middle east leads to free thought and self-determination. This is anti-islam in itself. When Bush praises Islam I don't believe he's sincere at all. I don't see how he could be and when he said G-d and allah are the same G-d I don't believe he really meant it.

I predict you will be wrong. Any public figure who mocks Islam finds themselves a target of a possible fatwa demanding their death. Theo Van Gogh in Holland was one such example. The Arabs will punish countries that tolerate anti-Islamic criticism. The Danes are finding that out.
