The online posting at KFOX said that the Sheriff had been told by his counterpart that they were indeed Mexican soldiers.

I'm wondering if the cover story is that they're investigating last week's incursion?

Or is the 'investigation' their cover? More likely the latter.

Note: Mexican and US troops are prohibited within 3 miles of the border. Sort of a DMZ.
