One small quibble:
Specially in an article filled with priceless references and interrelationships among mass murderers, "speed bumps" to reading comprehension and the flow of information irritate me. I can't "unknow" the meaning of certain words.

The intended word here is complemented and the error is enough to act as an unwelcome speed bump in the flow of information. Are editors on strike these days?
Nah. They're just too busy complimenting each other to pay attention to editing. :)
