NEWFANE -- Among votes to approve the budget and education spending at Town Meeting, residents will wade into national waters and vote from the floor for the impeachment of President George W. Bush. Selectboard member Dan DeWalt wrote the Town Meeting resolution and gathered enough signatures to get the question on to the ballot.
The vote for impeachment will be taken from the floor.
DeWalt said he was not going to bring any evidence to Newfane's meeting, claiming that the people of the town know enough about Bush's presidency to vote on the resolution.
If voters approve the resolution, DeWalt said he is going to ask U.S. Rep. Bernard Sanders, I-Vt., to file the articles of impeachment to remove the president from office.
"We have an immoral government operating illegally," DeWalt said. "I feel morally compelled to act."

Maybe we could trade Canada some land for both Vermont and Taxachusettes?

Hopefully we'll know where the folks got their information from to make such an 'informed' vote.

I think the entire state of Vermont would make an excellent live fire range for all the services.

Major breaking news - right up there with Haight-Ashbury or Takoma Park declaring themselves to be "nuclear-free zones", I guess.

Oh gosh, what can I say about that???

Meanwhile the U.S. Congress will be debating whether to replace the Stop sign at the corner of Main and 1st street in Newfane Vermont with a traffic signal.

I'm not a lawyer, just a humble engineer. Okay, I'm not especially humble, but I am fairly certain that city councils can't impeach presidents. If it turns out that I am wrong I will be among the first to say so.

You know, they just haven't thought it through. I had a discussion with a moonbat at work about the same thing. I said "Bring it on, President Cheney would be great"
They then replied "Oh no, I didn't think of that. I change my mind."
LOL
