Nordic states fear spread of Islamic rage

Nordic countries last night feared that attacks on their foreign missions could spread across the Middle East after demonstrators burned down the Danish consulate in Beirut in protest at the controversial cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed.

Nordic countries last night feared that attacks on their foreign missions could spread across the Middle East after demonstrators burned down the Danish consulate in Beirut in protest at the controversial cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed.

The incident followed attacks in Damascus, Syria's capital, on Saturday by mobs on the embassies of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. All the Nordic countries sharply condemned the attacks at the weekend and demanded security guarantees for their diplomatic staff in the Middle East.

Per Stig Møller, the Danish foreign minister, said yesterday: "It is totally unacceptable that governments do not secure embassies in their territory."

Jens Stoltenberg, Norway's prime minister, said: "What happened in Syria is completely unacceptable. We are going to ask Syria for compensation and we will take the matter up at the United Nations."

The US also condemned the attacks. "The government of Syria's failure to provide protection to diplomatic premises, in the face of warnings that violence was planned, is inexcusable," the White House said.

A crowd of several thousand demonstrators in Beirut set the Danish consulate alight, angered by the publication of the drawings of the Prophet Mohammed in Jyllands-Posten, a Danish newspaper, in September, and the failure of the Danish government to address Muslim concerns over the cartoons.

The pictures, considered blasphemous by Islam, later appeared in a Norwegian newspaper, making Norway also a target for Muslim radicals.

Reports from Beirut yesterday said cars were overturned and people were hurling rocks at nearby buildings, in spite of the deployment of 2,000troops and riot police. Security forces arrested 174 protesters, of whom they claimed almost half were Syrians, while Hassan al-Sabaa, Lebanon's interior minister resigned last night. Fouad Siniora, Lebanon's prime minister, said: "Those who are committing these acts have nothing to do with Islam or with Lebanon."

Denmark said it was withdrawing most of its diplomatic staff from Syria, while recommending Danes leave the country.

Norway was likewise cutting its diplomatic personnel in Syria. "We contacted the Syrian foreign ministry last Thursday, requesting additional security measures, but despite this the crowd of demonstrators was able to cross the distance of some 5km from the Danish to the Norwegian embassy on Saturday," the Norwegian embassy said.

The Iraqi transport ministry said yesterday it had frozen all contracts with the Danish and Norwegian governments.

Saturday's protests in Damascus followed reports that text messages were circulating citing plans by demonstrators in Copenhagen to burn Korans. Danish police at the weekend denied any such gatherings had occurred.

Every newspaper in the Free World needs to run the cartoons - they must not be allowed to divide us.

First they took the Danes, and since I wasn't a Dane, I didn't want to get involved. Then they took the other Nordic states, but I didn't live in a Nordic State... Trust me, if we don't stant together, they'll pick us off one by one.

Yet more straw upon the camels back, I truly fear this is going to get very ugly very quickly, God be with us!

I am wondering how long the Europeans will take this for. At a certain point, they will attack in return and revert to true form. They had no trouble moving whole segments of population from their countries at various times in their history.

The Muslims have pushed. How long till the Euro's push back?

The Euros are at the crossroads...

They can either lay their collective heads on the chopping block now, OR call to arms and fight back NOW.

There can be no compromise with Islam.

Sweden, in particular, is being overrun by Muslims.

It kind of reminds me of that parable that if you throw a from in hot water it jumps out, but if you put it in and add heat slowly it will stay in there till the heat of the water saps its stenght and voila ya have cooked frog.
Well we are in the pot, and its heating up not only in Nordic countries but this will spread, and if we don'r react. We will become toast.

On the other hand, no one fears Nordic rage.

They better get on with it quickly. Every moment's delay makes victory that more costly. Ship these assholes back where they came from; confiscate their property;seize their bank accounts and make 'em sorry they ever left the sand pile. Either that or we'll have to nuke 'em. No other possibility is allowed to exist...SSZ

The liberal media around the western world is siding with the muzzie terrorists. Newspapers in the US, UK, and Australia have refused to run these cartoons. As you rightly point out, the Danes are just pawns in this larger islamic strategy of global conquest and domination.

The civilized world will never accept islam as an equal (unless the muzzies stop being barbrians).

What's happened to the spirit of the Vikings? The Northmen of old would have scorned at any of these threats and would have attacked instead of skulking.

I guess the Vikings have been softened by decades of welfare statism and "multiculturalism." The good news is that people in Europe are finally getting to see the TRUE face of islam.

Well it's gotta get worse before it gets better. But not to worry. Mohameddan rabble was not good at warfare since Sallahudin. And these days, only thing we need to completely destroy them is the will. And that's without nuclear weapons. All we need is unsheath the sword. Remember - europeans wrote the book on industrial age warfare. Us and the Brits incinerated large cities with phosphorous in WWII without a second thought. Imagine what we could do now. And islamic world doesn't even have the means to defend itself, as opposed to the Germans. The allies paid a heavy price for those raids. Today, it'd be an execution.

So it only comes to the matter of having the will. Every day, as these kinds of things happen, the west gets closer and closer to having the will. Now it's only a matter of time. Either Islam changes, and it will be changed. Or obliterated.

What's happened to the spirit of the Vikings?

It's tempting to look back in the past and say "This is what these people once were". I thought like that too, but I realized that "these people" were never "like that", other people were, people who are all dead now, they're the ones with all that experience.

You know, all dogs descend from wolves. But would anyone take one of those quivering little lap poodles and mistake it for a Dire Wolf? No, poodles like that are just lunch for the nearest alley cat.

How much the Euros fit this observation today remains to be seen, but it doesn't look good.

Yes, we can only hope that the infamous State Department does not wither when facing Islamic oppression. Unfortunately, their initial response to the "cartoon" event leaves much to be desired. We can only hope that the President comes out with a definitive statement Monday. Due to the political atmosphere, I'm not holding my breath...

Don't underestimate them. Even a lap poodle will bite your hand off if it's ticked off enough, or scared for its life.

Remember, europeans wrote the book on wholesale war. And it was *only* 60 years ago they did it with such gusto it will be remembered for ages to come. If you have any doubts - look at the balkans. Supposedly they were european until '91. When they went straight back to WWII reenactment. You watch.

Why are not the Muslims in the Nordic countries rioting and burning?

Without Nordic embassies how can Muslims go to Nordic countries?
