If this were toned down and had some of the hysteria removed it would still be over the top.

The call against Hasselbeck was wrong. I do think big Ben broke the plane on the touchdown. As for the interference call, it was a judgment call. There was another TD overturned because of a questionable holding penalty. Still, this article was over the top. The fact that the refs are not full time is irrelevant.

The point of the article was that the game was ruined by the refs. I disagree, I don't think the outcome was decided by the refs.

It was obvious the sentiment was totally STeeler. These calls were atrocious and no amount of sugar coating can change that. Bad game ridiculous officiating. Don't know if the Seahawks could have won the game no matter but handling Ben that td was a joke and stealing the one from Seattle a killer. The penalty on Hasselbeck was beyond ridiculous.

I only watched about a dozen plays of the whole game and had no interest in who won. But in those dozen plays I saw two very questionalble calls in the Steelers' favor, including a holding call which brought back a pass play near the goal line and wiped out a probable touchdown. NFL refs are where NBA refs were two years ago--they better start paying attention and make some changes like the NBA did.

I really could have cared about either team and really don't care who won. I just wanted to see a good game. Having said that, in my opinion, it was the worse officiated Super Bowl I have ever seen. It is the damn Super Bowl, let them play. That offensive pass interference call on Seattle in the first was soft, to say the least. Hell, how often do you see offensive pass interference called in the regular season when both players are shoving each other all out? Usually, those calls go against the defense. To call it on that soft a play, in the Super Bowl? Nonsense. Moroever, to call holding on a play that would have given Seattle the ball on the two when even Madden is saying, "I'm sorry, that is NOT holding in the NFL." Methinks something was a bit amiss in the officiating. You can call holding on almost any play and for some reason, the officials were calling it on the most critical. Seemed weired to me.
